Guided by Mark Gibson
Flats Inshore Nearshore
Captain Mark is a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed Captain and a disabled service-connected U.S Navy Veteran.
Captain Mark has been saltwater fishing his whole life. After many years fishing the Gulf in the Tampa area, he decided to move down to the Florida Keys and share his experience with as many veterans as he possibly can. Although he enjoys fishing with everyone, 16 years ago he began taking out other vets, with and without disabilities, to share the fun and camaraderie of fishing. Soon after, began to take everyone out fishing and it became a passion to share the joy of fishing with as many people as possible. The beauty of the Everglades, Florida Bay and Atlantic Ocean is something everyone should see once in their life. Whether you are a first time salt water fisherman or old salt. There is always something to share that is new.
Explore the immaculate flats and beautiful backcountry with Captain Mark to chase Redfish, Snook, Trout, Tarpon, Shark, Snapper, and Permit down in the Florida Keys! These trips start at a beacon of the sportfishing world, the World Widesportsman in Islamorada (You'll know what I mean when you meet up with Captain Mark if you don't already). From the Dock behind World Wide, you will hop aboard Captain Mark's 17' Mako skiff that comes ready with all the fishing gear you will need, a cooler with some ice, and waters for you as well. Depending on weather conditions, time of the year, and your preferences of course, Captain Mark will take you either up and down the strings of keys to explore the abounding flats for Permit, Bonefish, Jacks, and Tarpon (when they're in the area), or back into the everglades to explore the seemingly endless maze of mangroves and backwater flats for Redfish, Trout, Baby Tarpon, and Sharks. Both are awesome options and Captain Mark will be there, either way, to lend his knowledge of tides, share his secret spots, and show you his favorite techniques for each species! Captain Mark is a pleasure to fish with and looks forward to taking you out on your next Florida Key's inshore adventure! Read More

Captain Mark was great and super accommodating! My two college aged sons had an awesome experience and caught plenty of fish! I highly recommend Captain Mark! It felt like fishing with an old friend!
Great fishing, got us in fish every stop. Fish in the freezer. Very knowledgeable captain, made catching easy.
Today was an awsome day on the water. We caught 10 different species of fish and had a wonderful day with Captain Mark.
Captain Mark jumped through hoops on a windy day in February at low tide to help our grandson catch a keeper, and succeeded. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It was a great experience. We fully recommend Cap Mark fishing tour. We even had time to safe a family!
Couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Captain Mark gave us the options of what to go after and he put us on the fish! Can’t wait to go back!
I wish I could give Captain Mark more than 5 stars! My two sons and I caught a ton of fish -- mackerel, snapper, trout, bluefish and more. Captain Mark knew the area, took us right where we needed to be and made sure we were set up for success. We wanted enough for a dinner, and we needed to buy a cooler to bring it all home. Captain Mark is a class act, we'll definately be back again, and will refer to friends who visit the Keys. …
Captain Mark is incredibly knowledgeable and knew all the right spots to make this the most memorable fishing trip ever! He took us further than most Captains will go to ensure we found a great spot. We caught 99 fish on our trip! Captain Mark took the time to review the techniques for each type of fish we were looking for. It made all the difference in our experience! We’ll absolutely book him again for any fishing we do in the Keys! Thank you for an amazing day! It’s a trip our son will never forget!! We also appreciate your support for wounded veterans and all you do for them! …
We were novice level and Captain Mark showed much patience with us. He was very informative about the environment and shared interesting facts throughout the trip. My boys wanted to get a big fish and we ended up hooking a two hundred pound sand shark! It was an amazing catch!! We caught fish non-stop. We highly recommend Captain Mark! …
We met captain Mark at the marina and he was ready to go. We traveled through the islands and bays to his selected spots. He put us onto fish and wasn’t hesitant to move to another spot if they weren’t biting or the conditions weren’t favorable. He know the waters and has a wealth of knowledge regarding the fisheries he was pursing along with how to catch them. The captain was very personable and if your coachable you will catch fish. We caught snook, spotted trout, snapper, redfish and other species. If you want to catch fish, enjoy a day on the water with a nice captain, this would be a great choice. I would not hesitate to book another charter with the captain. …
I took my 8 and 11 YO daughter and son on their first “big” fishing trip into the backcountry with Captain Mike and I consider us very fortunate to have connected with him. As a guide, Mike was very knowledgeable and immediately put us on some fish despite some odd tides and weather patterns. As a captain, he made my kids (and me) feel very comfortable on the water and with boater safety. He briefly stopped on the way out to point out dolphins and other nature related things. Once we arrived, he quickly got us set up with the right size tackle and fishing strategy for my smaller 8 YO daughter and my more experienced 11 YO son. He was patient with both of them and taught them all sorts of things about fishing, the backcountry, boating, etc. We caught a mixed bag of 10+ different kinds of fish using different techniques which kept it interesting for my kids (and me). He went above and beyond to help my son catch a large shark which was his goal all along and he got my daughter hooked on fishing. In the end, we ended up extending our trip from 3/4 day to full day at the request of my daughter who was having so much fun. Overall, as a parent, I cannot recommend Mike enough in this regard. While the above focuses on Mike being a great guide for kids/families, I was also very impressed with Mike’s skills and services as a guide for adults and experienced fisherman. He was great to talk with and provided lots of good advice on strategy and technique. Plus we caught a lot of fish which is always the goal. In closing, I will be going back to the Keys at some point in the future and using Mike again for hopefully multiple days of fishing. I have already recommended him to multiple friends and families and truly appreciate the experience we had with him. …
Capt Mark was awesome! Covered all our questions before we asked them & before we left the dock. Kept us on fish all day in areas where fish bit as soon as the bait hit the water. Capt Mark was a lot of fun with our kids (ages 9 and 13) as well as us parents. Great pointers, easy to follow instruction & guidance. We easily caught over 100 fish of a variety of species. Aside from catching fish we also saw other marine life. Capt Mark was incredible & we would HIGHLY recommend booking with him. …
