Captain Douglas will put all of his 40+ years of experience to work to provide you with a fantastic South Padre fishing charter experience. Fishing the Laguna Madre surround South Padre Island since the early '70's with his grandfather, Captain Douglas continues to run charter fishing trips throughout his entire adult life. He does it day after day because of his love for teaching others how to fish for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder and more.

Captain Douglas uses live bait or artificial lures depending on clients and what the fish are responding to best.

Captain Douglas welcomes anglers of all ages and skill levels. His outgoing and friendly personality keeps kids excited to fish, and Captain Douglas lives to net a new angler's first ever catch!

For those more experienced anglers, Captain Douglas is happy to share tips and tricks he's picked up of his 40+ years fishing the Laguna Madre.

Captain Douglas runs a brand new 22’ Dargle center console. This spacious boat comes powered by a single 200 HP Suzuki engine and can cruise at up to 32 knots. The boat can host up to 5 anglers to fish in comfort and style. Outfitted with a GPS, a fishfinder, a wireless trolling motor, and a livewell, you're all set for a great day on the water.

You'll be fishing Captain Douglas' favorite inshore, flats, backcountry, and nearshore spots while trolling, jigging, and throwing light tackle for Tarpon, Sheepshead, Flounder, Black Drum, Mangrove Snapper, Speckled Trout, Snook, Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, and Kingfish.

All trips include rods, tackle, reels, bait, lures, and complimentary fish cleaning. Don't forget a valid Texas saltwater fishing license for each angler, bring something to eat and drink, and come ready to fish!

Mid June 2026

Great time of year. Weather cooperating. The trout are spawning the next couple of months live croaker and artificial extremely effective and easy limits. Many oversized trout this year. I prefer and plastic with a chartreuse tail. Mornings with a moving tide the best. Redfish are scattered in the shallow flats in the foot to foot and a half water. Wade fishing and drifting with top waters and light artificial working best. Also the pods of tailing reds and trout working in the evenings under pods of seagulls. This will continue until mid July.
