About Your Trip

Get ready for an unforgettable day on the water with Captain Douglas, a seasoned South Padre Island guide with over 35 years of experience fishing these vibrant coastal waters. Whether you're chasing your first Redfish or looking to sharpen your skills with a few new tricks, Captain Douglas welcomes all anglers—young or old, novice to expert—for a fun, hands-on fishing experience that’s as educational as it is exciting.

This 5-hour trip gives you the chance
to explore some of the most productive fishing grounds in the area, including the clear, shallow flats, lively inshore channels, and the rugged South Padre jetties. Depending on the season and conditions, you'll be targeting a wide range of species like Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Black Drum, Snook, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, and even the occasional Kingfish.

Captain Douglas customizes every trip based on what’s biting and your fishing preferences. He’s fully equipped to guide you through a variety of techniques—whether it's sight casting on the flats, drifting bait over sandy bottoms, jigging near structure, or tossing topwaters at daybreak. Wading is also an option for those looking to get even more up close with the fishery.

You'll be riding in style aboard a 2023 22’ Dargle center console powered by a 200HP Suzuki engine. This boat is dialed in for South Texas waters, featuring a wireless trolling motor, GPS, fishfinder, live bait well, ice box, and a raised casting platform that gives you the edge when spotting fish in the shallows. It’s a comfortable, stable ride with plenty of room for up to 12 anglers.

All rods, reels, tackle, and live bait are included, and Captain Douglas will take care of cleaning your catch at the end of the trip. Feel free to bring your favorite drinks (just no glass), fire up your playlist on the Bluetooth speakers, and enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere out on the water.

Whether you’re looking to learn, explore, or just unwind with a rod in hand, this South Padre adventure is built to exceed expectations—and leave you with memories (and fish stories) that’ll last long after you’re back on shore.
