START TIME DISCLAIMER: 4hr trip start at 8am and 12pm. 6hr trips start at 8am and 1pm. 8hr trips start at 8am only! The all-day trip is my favorite trip, it gives us a lot of time to try a bunch of different tactics to make the day as productive as possible. We can run offshore and look for birds and debris chasing mahi mahi, troll on the edge of the reef for wahoo sailfish and tuna, drop on wrecks for snappers and groupers. I usually will talk to the customers and put a game plan together to make there fishing experience as memorable as possible. In the 3/4 day trip, it allows us to do more than the half day trip. That includes trolling, live bait, kite fishing, bottom fishing, deep dropping, or shark fishing. Our fishery in south Florida changes throughout the year so we can run offshore for mahi or bottom fish for snappers or groupers. We usually like to talk to the customers about what they would like to target and what is in season and make a game plan from that. We like to fish hard and have fun doing it! What techniques are popular for catching goliath grouper in Miami?

Goliath grouper fishing in Miami requires anglers to employ specialized techniques to tackle these formidable fish. One commonly used method is bottom fishing near structures such as reefs, wrecks, and ledges where goliath grouper tend to inhabit. Anglers anchor their boats over these areas and drop heavy bait rigs equipped with large hooks and substantial weights to the bottom. Live or dead bait, such as large fish or chunks of bonito, are often used to entice goliath grouper into striking. Patience is essential as anglers wait for the telltale sign of a powerful strike from one of these massive fish.

Another effective technique for targeting goliath grouper in Miami is using heavy tackle and vertical jigging. Anglers drop large, flashy jigs equipped with strong hooks and sturdy line directly to the bottom and employ a jerking motion to mimic the movement of injured prey. Vertical jigging allows anglers to cover a wide area of the water column and can be particularly effective when targeting goliath grouper near shipwrecks or artificial reefs.

Once hooked, landing a goliath grouper requires skill and determination due to their immense size and strength. Anglers must carefully maneuver the fish away from underwater obstacles to prevent it from breaking off the line. It's not uncommon for goliath grouper to make powerful runs and dive deep in an attempt to evade capture, putting anglers' tackle and endurance to the test. Proper handling techniques are crucial to ensure the safe release of these protected fish after the catch, allowing them to continue thriving in Miami's vibrant marine ecosystem for generations to come.

Jedidiah was unavailable to take us out fishing, but his friend Matt was able fill in. Matt was excellent company, very knowledgeable about fishing, and the various species within these waters. We had a wonderful time and if Matt is a representation of the people Jedidiah keeps for company, then I have no doubt he would be as equally wonderful to go fishing with, 10/10.

Taylor was amazing! He knew exactly what he was doing; the spots to go to, which bait to use to catch certain fish, and how to set up each individual line. He also knew when each line would be hooked or something was biting, even when we couldn’t see it. We ended up with one big catch that broke the line as we spent what felt like hours fighting it. Even though we didn’t end up feeling anything in, it was still a great experience out on the water, talking about a range of topics with Taylor. We would definitely come back and book with Taylor and Wicked Cuda again!

I would 100% recommend a trip with Jedidiah. No doubt he knows the waters and how to get on the fish, but was also very good with our two younger anglers who had a memorable, successful and exciting experience. King Mackerel were biting and they were just a couple minutes off shore. Thanks Jedidiah and hope to book another one with you in the future!

Absolutely amazing crew and fishing! Traveled with our four kids and decided to take a fishing trip before we went on left for a cruise out of Miami. Communication prior to trip was great and boat had plenty of space including bathroom, cooler with ice/drinks and inside area for younger children that were hot/sleepy. We caught tons of fish! Definitely would recommend this boat and crew to anyone looking for a solid boating/fishing experience!

Hi, the overall trip was good, captain explained a lot. We were expecting another person on board to help with baiting, but the captain did it all. He greeted us at his home went to the boat and took off. The bathroom on the boat definitely needs a deep cleaning. I think the boat was too small boat for as many people we had on board to be fishing. We were always in his way or another person's way it seemed. Wish we could have caught something other than fish bait.
