One popular method is sight casting, where anglers actively search for cobia cruising near the surface or around structures such as oil rigs, wrecks, and buoys. When a cobia is spotted, anglers quickly present baits or lures directly to the fish, often using live bait such as eels, mullet, or crabs, as well as artificial lures like bucktail jigs or swimbaits.
