This trip is wade fishing or drift fishing only with artificial lures. My wade fishing trips are typically a 4-5hr trip for a half day. Clients bring their own rod, reel and waders if needed. I can provide wade boxes and lures. My personal rods are available with a deposit that is non refundable if the reel touches the water. We will start our morning with a short boat ride to a flat or back lake to locate fish. I will help teach you how to attack an area with the wind, structure and how to present the bait to fish. Fishing out of the boat with cut or live bait for reds, speckled trout or black drum. Drifting the flat with live shrimp under popping corks or lures and soft plastics. If you catch a limit of the targeted species or they are simply not bitting, he will always look for feeding fish to catch. His passion for fishing the Gulf coast comes from spending weekends and summers in Rockport, Texas. There he began crafting his fishing skills at age 4 with his father, along the San Antonio Bay system south to Lower Laguna Madre. After attending Southwest Texas University, James obtained his Captain's license in 2005 to share his knowledge and experience on the water with others. In addition to conventional fishing, James has been an avid fly fisherman for 15 years. He has spent time in the Bahamas learning new techniques for fly casting, which he can pass along to fly-fishing clients at any level.
