Is booking a guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is in the wild every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of having a great trip.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

Edwin was a great captain. Fished with my two young sons and Edwin kept it appropriate for them. Made sure we saw some action and kept it safe. Definitely would recommend him to anyone going out on the water near Marco or Naples.

Incredible experience! Captain Edwin receives 5 stars from us! Our three teenage boys are hard to please and they had so much fun! We caught lots of fish and saw tons of dolphins! It was an amazing trip for our family; one we will never forget.

Edwin was the man! I went on a trip with my friend and my father, and we had a great time. We all got on some great fights with Goliath grouper which we won’t forget any time soon. Edwin was extremely accommodating with our plans, as weather was a big concern. He was very knowledgeable about the area, and provided us with many different options to fish throughout the trip. The boat and gear is all top notch as well. I have had a handful of experiences with different captains, and Edwin is as good as they come! I would recommend to anyone looking to have a good time and catch some fish!
