These hog hunts are semi guided. Hunters are transported to and from the stands. Any harvested game will be transported as well. You'll primarily hunt out of stands over feeders or fed roads. We do allow spot and stalk hunting during the midday, but no spot and stalk hunting during the stand hunt times are allowed for saftey reasons. Average shots for firearms are 80 yards, archery stands are around 20-25 yards. Hunts include 2 hogs of any size. Any additional hogs are 125$ each. Are you new to wild boar hunting in Texas? First and foremost, you'll need to invest in proper hog hunting gear. This will include your choice of weapon, gun or bow, as well as a good knife and potentially a pistol or additional sidearm. You'll also want to bring binoculars and camouflage clothing for both warm and cool weather. Wild boars have an excellent sense of smell, so it's also helpful to have some scent eliminator handy. While you're away from home, you'll also need some comfortable clothing for relaxing around the lodge and basics like a field backpack, water bottle, and snacks. Don't forget to bring any medications and toiletries that you'll need and a couple of hefty coolers for taking your freshly processed meat home. The Hunting areas are approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours drive from DFW airport and offers quality hunts with guns or bows at affordable prices. The Ranches cover prime Texas hunting land with quality blinds, corn filled feeders, game camera reports, heavy brush, open fields, water filled stock tanks, and MORE. Some of the properties border hundreds of acres of NON hunted land. We have quality pictures from our game cameras that show the abundance of wildlife that are located on the properties. 6 or more hunters get 360 acres of property in the Bridgeport area to themselves with feeders and blinds plus stalk hunting around several ponds. There are many ways to hunt Feral Hogs but it is like fishing – everybody has a different way to do it. Most hunters get on the computer and google different aspects of hunting Feral Hogs and read about them because Hogs are woods savvy and can smell and hear very well. All our feeders go off twice daily (unless there is a malfunction) to distribute corn and we have solar powered, motion activated, LED hog lights on all feeders on hog hunting property to help you spot the hogs. We have single and double blinds located 30 yards for the bow, black powder and shotgun hunter or up to 75 yards away for those that prefer a longer shot. PLUS Free camping and hunting for other Non-game animals that include (but are not limited to) the following: armadillos, bobcats, coyotes, flying squirrels, frogs, ground squirrels, mountain lions, porcupines, prairie dogs, rabbits, and turtles. What makes our duck hunting so special is that there are no Federal Wild Life Refugees located in our very own Central flyway from Canada to Texas. We feel this make a positive impact on the number of ducks available each season in our managed hunting areas. One of the biggest differences with our guided duck hunts is the annual Mallard Duck Migration we see happen each season over the entire North West Texas region. The Mallard Migration occurs around the middle of November and generally lasts until the first substantial freezing weather event. When this migration occurs, there are huge numbers of Mallard Ducks on nearly every spot of water that our managed properties hold. Limit duck hunting happens very quickly when these conditions occur and the fun factor is high. The majority of our duck hunts occur over managed stock tanks/ponds. We manage these locations to make sure they are not over hunted or pressured. This is why some of our duck hunts occur anywhere over a seven county area of North West Texas. Our guide network is always scouting for bird concentrations all season long. We maintain year long conservation programs on all our managed hunting properties. This is done to ensure your group a great outdoor experience. Several of our hunting guides are full time ranchers and farmers that work the very land we hunt on. Who is better to know where the game is, than a guy running farm equipment all year long and managing the land, conservation and livestock. Lodging- Meals Schedule, for a typical weekend two day guided hunting package we provide one meal (Dinner) upon arrival Friday Evening and three meals Saturday (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) and one meal Sunday (Breakfast) for a total of five meals per person. We hunt Saturday & Sunday Morning with guest departure after the hunt is completed by Sunday early afternoon. Generally until limits are achieved or at 12 Noon on Sunday. Our hunting clients typically help set up our Crane decoys and begin helping to set up our mobile Crane Blind. We prefer our clients involved in all phases of a successful Sand Hill Crane Hunt. It allows us to deploy the decoys and blind with less help in the field. The faster we set up and load out the gear after the hunt, the more time our clients have to travel.
