Big Bay Bounty
This will be a half day of wade fishing the Rockport Tx bay systems. We will use a variety of different Artifical lures from soft plastics to top waters primarily targeting trophy trout and redfish. I will provide all the tackle as far as lures go. But you are more than welcome and encouraged to bring your favorite and most confident baits. You will be required to bring all your own gear consisting of waders and boots, wading belts with pliers and stringers and last but not least your own rods. I do recommend each customer bring 2 rods incase one accidentally breaks or has a malfunction. I can provide beginners rods and reels for an additional cost of $50 per rod. One more thing that I hope won’t be a deal breaker but since the major freeze a few years ago I along with a lot of the Texas guides do “Not” allow clients to keep any trout. Our trout fishery especially here in the rockport area took a major hit during the freeze. With that being said, It is coming back and there is plenty of trout action to have but if we want it to have a chance to get back to the way it was and hopefully even better and long lasting we have to continue to let them go and grow. Like I said I really hope that isn’t a deal breaker. Read More

Recent Reviews of Captain Experiences
Great day on the water. Some nices Reds, the others were not so cooperative. Heath did an excellent job of putting me where the fish were.
David M. with Heath B. of Port Aransas, Texas
Took a while because the fish weren't biting, but when they started biting we got our limit in about 15 minutes.
Gary Y. with Steven S. of Port Aransas, Texas
We did not have a good experience. The seas were very rough, we got sea sick, completely drenched and my husband fell out of his wheelchair when the boat hit a big wave at about mile 13 or 14. He was stayed seated on the floor of the boat as we attempted to continue out. After about 1.5 hours, we were less than 20 miles out, we decided to ask the captain to turn around.
Gabriel D. with Daniel D. of Port Aransas, Texas
We had a great day. We limited out in less than 2 hours and to finish off the trip, he put us on 2 giant Bull Reds. He put us on plenty of fish for an outstanding morning. Thanks Alex
Eddie B. with Alex C. of Port Aransas, Texas
Mark M. with Heath B. of Port Aransas, Texas
Captain Rueben was great. Fishing was slow but he kept working hard until we boated 4 nice Red fish. We had some of the fillets prepared at Finn’s at his suggestion and they were great. I will definitely book with Captain Rueben again.

Had a Member of our group get very ill and not only was James's first thought his safety but we cut our trip short and he even discounted the fees. Very thankful and will use them again. This was our first time fishing in the intercoastal. We had a great time fishing with James. He put us on fish at the first stop and moved us on to the next spot as soon as the action slowed down. He provided quality live bait and showed us effective techniques. He took care of baiting, netting our catch and otherwise took great care of us. James was jovial, easy-going and incredibly patient with us. We had a blast.
