About Your Trip

If you're planning a Texas bass fishing adventure, it doesn't get better than a day on the water with Captain Stan. With over 35 years of experience fishing and guiding on legendary Texas lakes like Fork, Falcon, Amistad, and especially O.H. Ivie, Captain Stan brings a lifetime of bass knowledge to every trip. He's a seasoned tournament angler with credentials from BassMasters, WONBASS, and BassChamps—and has even graced the cover of Bassmaster magazine. Whether you’re a dedicated angler or just learning the ropes, his passion and friendly guidance make every outing feel personal and productive.

O.H. Ivie has become one of the hottest big-bass lakes in the country, and Captain Stan knows it like the back of his hand. A former Bassmaster Classic qualifier, he brings a competitive edge to each trip, but his true passion lies in helping guests hook into the fish of a lifetime. Whether you’re chasing trophy Largemouth or sharpening your technique, you’ll be in expert hands.

You’ll fish aboard a 21’ Triton bass boat, powered by a 250 HP Mercury engine and perfectly set up for two anglers. This 2019 model is fast, stable, and outfitted with a GPS and fish finder to stay on the bite. Captain Stan provides high-end rods, reels, and hand-selected lures matched to seasonal patterns—so you can show up ready to fish.

Largemouth Bass are the main target year-round, and techniques often include light tackle fishing. Depending on the time of year and current conditions, Captain Stan may introduce other methods to keep the action going. He’ll tailor the day to match your goals and experience level, making sure you get the most out of your time on the water.

Your trip includes all rods, reels, tackle, and lures. Just bring a valid Texas fishing license for each angler, weather-appropriate clothing, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), snacks and drinks (no glass or hard liquor), and of course—a camera and a smile.

This is Texas bass fishing at its finest: focused, fun, and built around chasing giants with one of the most experienced guides on the water.
