About Your Trip

Fish one of the most iconic river systems in the Pacific Northwest where the Columbia and Snake Rivers meet, creating a dynamic fishery known for both hard-fighting salmon and massive sturgeon. This is a full-day, 8-hour trip built around covering water, adapting to conditions, and putting you in the best possible position to succeed.

This isn’t a sit-and-wait kind of day. Your guide stays mobile—targeting productive areas like current seams, deep holes, back eddies, and
structure where fish are actively feeding. Depending on the season and bite, you may fish areas like Drano Lake or other key stretches where salmon and sturgeon stack up.

You’ll be targeting a mix of species including Chinook Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, and White Sturgeon, each offering a completely different experience. Salmon bring fast runs and aggressive fights, while sturgeon are all about raw power—big, heavy fish that test your strength and patience.

Techniques vary throughout the day based on conditions and target species. You might be trolling plugs for salmon, drifting bait along the bottom for sturgeon, or working current breaks and structure where fish are holding. The approach is always adjusted in real time to stay on the bite and maximize opportunities.

You’ll be fishing from a 24’ boat designed to handle big river systems comfortably, with space for up to 6 anglers. All rods, reels, and tackle are provided, set up and ready to go for the day’s conditions.

This trip is about time on the water—having the flexibility to move, adjust, and really work the fishery without rushing. Whether you’re chasing your first salmon or looking to hook into a true river giant, this is a well-rounded, action-focused experience on some of the most productive waters in the region.

Just be sure to bring a valid Washington fishing license with the appropriate catch cards and endorsements before your trip.

Captain Leon is a Pacific Northwest native and dedicated river angler with deep roots in the Columbia and Snake River systems. A Navy veteran, he brought his discipline and work ethic back home to Southeast Washington, where he’s spent decades fishing these waters and learning how they change with the seasons.

After an injury shifted his career path, Leon turned his lifelong passion into a full-time pursuit, attending captain school and building a guide business centered around sharing these fisheries
with others. His approach is simple—work hard, stay on fish, and never quit on the bite.

He specializes in the nuances of the region, from tracking salmon migration patterns to understanding where sturgeon hold in deep water, adjusting each trip based on conditions like water flow, weather, and seasonal movement.

Leon prides himself on being approachable and high-energy, creating a welcoming environment for anglers of all experience levels. Whether you’re chasing your first fish or looking to dial things in, his goal is to keep the trip safe, productive, and enjoyable from start to finish.
