About Your Trip

Experience one of Canada's premier trout fisheries on a guided drift boat trip down Alberta's legendary Bow River. Whether you're brand new to fly fishing or an experienced angler looking to refine your skills, this trip offers a unique opportunity to learn, improve, and chase hard-fighting trout in a world-class setting.

These trips are designed for up to two anglers and can be booked as either a half-day or full-day experience. Full-day trips typically run
8 to 10 hours, including transportation and time on the water, while half-day trips generally last 4 to 5 hours. Throughout the day, you'll float productive sections of the Bow River, targeting trout while taking in the stunning scenery and abundant wildlife that make this fishery so special.

This is much more than simply a guided fishing trip. Your guide takes pride in helping anglers become better fly fishers by sharing the knowledge and techniques developed through years on the water. You'll receive hands-on instruction covering casting fundamentals, fly selection, knot tying, reading water, fish behavior, safe wading practices, fighting fish on a fly rod, and the various fly fishing techniques used throughout the season. Whether you're picking up a fly rod for the first time or looking to sharpen existing skills, you'll leave the river with valuable knowledge you can apply wherever you fish.

All fly fishing equipment can be provided, including quality fly rods and flies. If you have favorite gear of your own, you're welcome to bring it along. Full-day trips include lunch, snacks, and non-alcoholic refreshments, while half-day trips include snacks and refreshments. Please notify your guide of any dietary restrictions at least 24 hours before your trip.

Transportation to and from the river is provided from a designated meeting location, and all trips are conducted from a comfortable drift boat equipped with safety equipment, life jackets, first aid supplies, and emergency weather gear. Your guide closely monitors conditions and carries emergency tarps for unexpected weather, ensuring you're prepared for whatever the day may bring.

Anglers are encouraged to bring weather-appropriate clothing, rain gear, sun protection, polarized sunglasses, insect repellent, any necessary medications, and a camera to capture the day's memories. Wading boots and waders are recommended if you plan to get out of the boat, though availability of rental gear may be limited. For safety reasons, footwear with metal cleats or spikes is not permitted in the boat.

All participants must possess a valid Alberta fishing license and should familiarize themselves with the current Alberta Sportfishing Regulations before their trip. Printed copies of your fishing license are required. All guests must also sign a liability waiver prior to departure.

For safety reasons, personal flotation devices must be worn throughout the trip. Standard life jackets are provided, though anglers are welcome to bring their own inflatable PFD if preferred. Alcohol and cannabis are not permitted on any trip.

Whether you're looking to land your first trout on a fly, improve your casting skills, or simply spend a day floating one of North America's great trout rivers, this Bow River adventure offers an unforgettable day on the water.

Peter has been fly fishing across Canada for more than 35 years, pursuing trout and other gamefish everywhere from British Columbia and Vancouver Island to the Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan, Quebec, and throughout Alberta's renowned fisheries.

For the past 20+ years, Peter has focused on the mountain rivers and streams of Southern Alberta, while spending the last decade floating the legendary Bow River. In 2020, he turned a lifelong passion into a guiding business with one goal in mind: helping others
experience the excitement of fly fishing while creating lasting memories on some of the most beautiful waters in North America.

Whether you're catching your first fish on a fly rod or chasing a personal best, Peter is passionate about making every trip fun, educational, and rewarding. He enjoys teaching anglers the skills and techniques that build confidence on the water, from casting and reading water to fish behavior and fly selection.

As a member of the Angling Outfitters and Guides Association of Alberta and the Bow River Trout Foundation, Peter is committed to responsible angling, conservation, and protecting the fisheries he loves.

His guiding philosophy is simple: put safety first, have fun, share knowledge, and create an experience you'll remember long after the last cast. Built around the core values of Safety, Respect, Conservation, and Education, Peter's goal is to earn your trust and become the guide you want to fish with again.
