Experience one of Michigan's most unique winter traditions with a guided ice fishing adventure on Saginaw Bay. Join Captain Jay and head onto the ice in search of some of the area's most popular cold-weather species while enjoying the beauty and excitement that only a Great Lakes winter can provide.

Your day begins with a ride across the ice aboard Arctic Cat snowmobiles, giving you access to productive fishing grounds that many anglers never reach on their own. Once set up, you'll target Walleye and Yellow Perch using proven jigging techniques and light tackle presentations designed specifically for these highly sought-after fish.

Whether you're a seasoned ice angler or trying the sport for the first time, Captain Jay provides all the equipment needed for a successful day on the ice. Rods, reels, tackle, and artificial lures are all included, allowing you to focus on fishing and enjoying the experience.

Both half-day and full-day trips are available, giving anglers the flexibility to choose the adventure that best fits their schedule. Families are welcome, and this trip is a great way to introduce kids to fishing in a fun and memorable setting.

At the end of the day, you're welcome to keep any legal catch for the dinner table or release your fish to fight another day. Just bring a valid Michigan fishing license, dress appropriately for the weather, and pack your favorite food and drinks for a true Great Lakes ice fishing adventure.

Captain Jay has spent more than 30 years fishing the waters of the Great Lakes and has built a reputation for helping anglers experience some of Michigan's best freshwater fisheries. Since becoming a licensed charter captain in 2009, he has guided guests across Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Saginaw Bay, the Detroit River, and the frozen waters of Saginaw Bay during ice fishing season.

What sets Captain Jay apart is his versatility. Whether he's trolling for Salmon on Lake Michigan, chasing Walleye on Saginaw Bay, vertical jigging the Detroit River, or transporting guests across the ice by snowmobile in the middle of winter, he brings decades of local knowledge and a passion for sharing the sport with others.

Captain Jay enjoys fishing with anglers of all experience levels and takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for families, beginners, and seasoned fishermen alike. His laid-back personality, commitment to customer service, and love of the outdoors help make every trip both productive and enjoyable.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
