About Your Trip

Spend a half or full day floating one of Michigan's most productive river systems with Captain Rodney as you fish the legendary waters below Tippy Dam on the Manistee River. Whether you're booking the 4-hour morning trip or the 6-hour option, you'll fish from a jet boat designed to access productive stretches of river while targeting one of the Midwest's most prized game fish—hard-fighting Steelhead.

Using proven techniques like drifting, spinning, bottom fishing, and fly
fishing, you'll work current seams, runs, and deeper holes where Steelhead hold throughout the season. Depending on the time of year, opportunities for Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Brown Trout, and Smallmouth Bass may also present themselves.

These trips are great for both experienced anglers and those looking to learn the ins and outs of river fishing. Captain Rodney enjoys teaching new anglers while helping seasoned fishermen fine-tune their presentation, making every trip as instructional or independent as you'd like.

Your trip includes rods, reels, tackle, bait, lures, bottled water, light snacks, and fish cleaning and bagging at the end of the day. Fly anglers are welcome, and specialized fly fishing trips can be arranged as well. The boat comfortably fishes two anglers, with room for a third guest for an additional fee.

Bring your Michigan fishing license, weather-appropriate clothing, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, and any additional food or drinks you'd like for the day. Then settle in for a scenic float through one of Michigan's premier Steelhead fisheries with a guide who's passionate about helping anglers succeed.
