About Your Trip

Come fish one of the best locations on the Texas Gulf Coast. I run these trips from the beginning of November till May. The lower Texas coast has vast shallow grass flats filled with speckled trout and redfish. It is a great place to come to catch trophies or a great meat haul. Many options: drift fishing the bay for speckled trout. Wade trips for larger specks and redfish. Fish the jetties for reds, black drum, pompano, tarpon (Nov/Dec), and bull reds. Do a slough trip in the airboat for a mix of redfish, alligator gar, and blue cats, or we can drive a little bit south and fish the port of Brownsville. Brownsville is the place to be to fish for snook on the Texas coast. Along with trophy snook a meat haul can be achieved by catching variety of fish like black drum, speckled trout, and mangrove snapper.

I do have lodging available as well.

I'm Capt. Matt and I'm a full-time hunting and fishing guide in north central WI. I guide all over the area with the popular vacation towns of Minocqua, Eagle River, Manitowish Waters, boulder Junction, and saint Germain. I am well known for my musky fishing expertise being a 3 time pmtt world champion winner. But am also the most decorated angler in their tournament series history. Besides musky I also enjoy and fish at a high level for bass, walleyes, and even big panfish. Besides fishing northern WI. I run a duck/fishing operation on the Texas coast in the winter months and chase tarpon in the spring down in south west FL. I am one of the very few full-time guides in the area with a great reputation of making your day highly enjoyable catching our target species.

How did you get started guiding?

Growing up didn't know anyone else to hunt or fish with so decided to make a website to see if people wanted to go so I then could buy more gear and tackle. It took off to the point where I went full-time into it right out of college.

What makes you different from other guides?

Experience, time on the water, drive to be the best at it. I strive to always put in 110% effort to get the most out of the day. I started tournament fishing to see if hey I actually know what I'm doing against others. A decade later I've decorated myself being one of the best musky tournament anglers in the country.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Matt will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
