About Your Trip

Head out from Marathon for a 4-hour shark fishing trip through the productive waters of the Florida Keys. This trip is built around targeting some of the area's larger predators, with Bull Sharks and Nurse Sharks among the species you may encounter.

Your captain will choose where and how to fish based on the conditions, using local knowledge to put your group in a good position for the day. With access to the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Florida Bay from Marathon, there are plenty of options depending on where the bite has been best.

You'll fish aboard a 28' Mako powered by twin 200 HP Suzuki engines and equipped with quality electronics, safety equipment, a live bait tank, and room for up to 6 guests. Rods, reels, tackle, live bait, bottled water, and fishing licenses are all included.

Whether you're an experienced angler or looking to catch your first shark, your captain will tailor the trip to your group and the conditions.

Captain Jay's love for fishing started in New Jersey, where his grandfather first put a rod in his hands. That early introduction turned into a lifelong passion and eventually a career. After running charters off the New Jersey coast, Jay began making trips to the Florida Keys and quickly fell in love with the fishery. Eventually, the pull of the Keys was too strong to ignore, and he made Marathon home.

Jay holds a 50-ton USCG Master license and brings more than a decade of charter fishing experience to every trip. Since settling in Marathon, he's built a team of captains who share his passion for the Florida Keys and enjoy working with anglers of all ages and experience levels.

That team includes Captain Ben, a 100-ton licensed captain who spent four years in the military working aboard a variety of vessels before settling in the Keys. Captain Randy brings 20 years of experience and especially enjoys introducing families to the fishery. Captain Bryan worked his way from first mate to captain and has experience fishing the backcountry, reefs, and offshore waters. Captain Austin grew up fishing everything from bluefish and kingfish to tuna and wreck species before eventually making the Keys home.

Rounding out the crew is Captain Bryce, a lifelong Florida Keys local who grew up fishing with his grandfather and family. After years spent mating aboard charter and head boats, he earned his 100-ton captain's license and developed experience across inshore, backcountry, and offshore fishing.

With Jay leading the way, this experienced crew gives anglers the opportunity to explore everything from the reefs and wrecks around Marathon to Florida Bay, the backcountry, and offshore waters. No matter which captain runs your trip, the goal is to share their knowledge of the Keys, adapt the day to your group, and give you a fishing experience worth remembering.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Jay will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 60 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 60 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
