About Your Trip

Experience winter in the Adirondacks with a guided ice fishing trip from Adirondack Mountain & Stream. From smaller mountain lakes and ponds to some of the region’s larger waters, each trip is planned around current ice conditions, weather, target species, and the type of experience you're looking for. Your guide will meet you at the arranged location, help get everyone safely onto the ice, set up the equipment, and spend the trip moving, checking lines, and adjusting tactics to put you in the best position for a successful day.

Depending on the water and time of winter, we can target Lake Trout, Northern Pike, Walleye, Yellow Perch, Rainbow Trout, and other seasonal Adirondack species. Trips may combine traditional tip-up fishing with jigging and other active techniques. When conditions and the target species call for it, we can also use portable electronics and sonar to locate fish, determine depth, and watch fish respond to presentations below the ice. Whether you're an experienced ice angler or stepping onto a frozen lake for the first time, your guide can provide as much or as little instruction as you need.

Our ice fishing trips are highly customizable. Some guests want a laid-back day tending tip-ups and enjoying the winter scenery, while others want to stay mobile, drill holes, use electronics, and actively search for fish. Families, beginners, and experienced anglers are all welcome. We provide the specialized ice fishing equipment needed for the trip, including rods, tip-ups, augers, tackle, and other necessary gear, so you don't need to own a full ice fishing setup to join us. Full-day trips also include lunch, snacks, and water.

What makes an Adirondack Mountain & Stream trip different is that the experience isn't limited to simply drilling a few holes and waiting. Our guides have spent years fishing, hunting, paddling, camping, and exploring throughout Adirondack Park, and we use that local knowledge to tailor each outing to the conditions and the guests. Ice fishing is also one of the best ways to experience the Adirondacks during a season many visitors never get to see. From watching a flag pop on a tip-up to marking a Lake Trout beneath you on the sonar, we'll help create a winter fishing trip built around the experience you're looking for.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Jamie will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
