About Your Trip

Experience one of the Adirondacks’ oldest outdoor traditions with a guided whitetail deer hunt from Adirondack Mountain & Stream. Hunting deer in the Adirondack backcountry is a very different experience from hunting agricultural country or managed properties. This is big, rugged country with vast forests, mountains, wetlands, and relatively low deer densities—and success often comes from understanding how Adirondack bucks travel through that landscape. Our guides use years of local hunting and woods experience to help guests navigate this country and make the most of their time in the field.

Each hunt is tailored around the hunter’s experience, physical ability, current conditions, and the stage of the season. Depending on the situation, we may still-hunt through the timber, watch natural travel corridors and feeding areas, track deer when snow conditions allow, or use traditional Adirondack deer-drive techniques with our guides working together to move hunters strategically through an area. Some days may involve covering significant ground, while other hunts can be arranged around shorter walks and more stationary setups. We offer opportunities during New York’s bow, early muzzleloader, regular firearms, and late muzzleloader seasons, allowing us to adapt our approach as deer behavior and conditions change throughout the fall.

What separates these hunts from a typical guided whitetail trip is the country itself and the traditions surrounding hunting it. Adirondack Mountain & Stream has been guiding guests throughout the region for more than four decades, and our guides spend the year exploring these forests through hunting, fishing, paddling, camping, and backcountry travel. We can't promise an Adirondack buck—and anyone familiar with this country knows they're earned—but we can provide a professionally guided hunt built around learning the country, hunting hard, and experiencing Adirondack deer season the way generations of hunters have before us.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a hunting license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Jamie will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
