About Your Trip

Come join me, Captain Justin, and explore the nearshore Atlantic Ocean waters surrounding Atlantic Beach and Cape Lookout North Carolina. We chase a variety of Nearshore species depending upon the time of year that range from bluefish, spanish mackerel, false albacore, and bonito along the beaches to king mackerel, cobia, vermilion snapper, triggerfish, grouper, and mahi out 25 miles.

I absolutely loves being out on the water sharing the angling experience with others. From novice
to expert, child to adult, all are welcome. I want my anglers to be hands on and I very much promote your participation to maximize your experience. This part of the North Carolina, the Crystal Coast has so much to offer, and I want to introduce you to all that it has to offer, from gorgeous sunrises to pods of porpoises, skimming pelicans, massive sea turtles, and of course, great fishing. Depending upon the trip duration, weather, and target species for the day we may find ourselves casting, jigging, bottomfishing, trolling, with both artificial and natural bait presentations. I prefer to cast over troll, but no matter the method I will strive to use the lightest tackle suitable for the task, but I love some electric reels for bottomfishing. Whether you like to cast to busting Albies or Spanish Mackerel, watch a king sky a live menhaden, or bow up the rod with a triggerfish I have your fishing covered. Don't delay, Book today!

Step off the dock and aboard the Ragtime, a 2021 30' Contender center console, both fast and seaworthy she will take us safely to our destination and back. She is powered by twin 300 HP Yamaha engines, rigged with Power Pole Move Trolling motor to keep us o the spot, and Simrad electronics to find the spot. I come prepared with everything you need for a great day, including top-of-the-line rods, reels, bait, and tackle. Bring along proper clothing, sunscreen, and a pair of polarized sunglasses to maximize your time on the water.

We had the best morning with Justin! He was friendly, engaging, and provided a lot of education on the area, the water, the fish, and fishing. We got to explore many different parts of the river to ensure we had ample opportunities to catch both speckled trout and red drum. We also followed a pod of porpoises, which was a fun diversion.

Justin cleaned our fish at the end of our
excursion which we took home and prepared that evening for dinner. Delicious fish tacos thanks for Justin's guidance and navigation! We look forward to returning to the area and having Justin take us out for another fabulous adventure.
