About Your Trip

On this trip, you'll fish up to 40 miles offshore, targeting wrecks and reef structures for BIG game fish.

One of our prized wreck species is the Greater Amberjacks. These incredibly strong, hard fighting fish put up an amazing fight! Ranging from 5lbs to over 100 lbs, these aptly named “reef donkeys” put up a hell of a fight! They can rip of tons of drag in seconds!

While on the structure, we may see
other large predators such as the Goliath Grouper. These crazy, Volkswagen sized fish can reach over 500 lbs! They have been known to come up and eat your other prized fish as you reel it in!

Speaking Of other predators, we also have some gnarly toothed characters such as barracudas, kingfish and sharks! These guys can sometimes be super aggressive, and will find your fish you have hooked up and bite it in half! Crazy to reel in just the head of a fish!??

Seasonally, we also may get a run of some other pretty amazing species in AFrican Pompano and Cobia. Very different when comparing the two look wise, they do both put up amazing fights and make some of the best table fare if you are lucky enough to get one!

These trips target big fish, but due to regulations and seasons. Most species are strictly catch and release. If you are looking for fish to bring home to eat, we do recommend the red grouper trip.

You'll be fishing comfortably aboard Captain Dan's 35' World Cat. This luxurious, "tournament edition" catamaran has an overall length of over 35 feet, with a generous 10' 6" beam that carries the full length of the boat. What this means for you is a large, wide and stable boat with lots of space. She also has plenty of storage, along with multiple fish boxes to keep your catch fresh on ice, sizeable livewells to keep bait frisky, a large T-top for shade, a toilet in the forward cabin area, and some of the most modern fish-finding electronics on the market.

This boat is great for families with small children and the ladies, as it has a bathroom, shade to get out of the elements, and provides a super comfortable ride! With all the rods, reels, and tackle included, there's no excuse not to get out there and have a blast!

Born and raised in South Florida, I have always had an affinity for water and drawn to it. My most fond memories growing up all revolve around playing sports and having a rod in my hand. Form an early age, my excitement for fishing trips would keep me awake in anticipation of the next days adventure.. As I've grown older and maybe a little wiser, my passions have only grown. While we had lots of success, the days of little to no success would drive me crazy and pushed me to practice my craft and try to learn more and more. Fishing to me is not just a passion, it is a way of life. Plus, the views out of my office are pretty sweet. I traded in a job wearing a suit and tie to spend my days on the water, teaching and educating anglers. I often get told this is the biggest grouper, snapper, amberjack, etc etc Ive ever caught. This puts a genuine smile and grin on my face. It is something I strive to do, and take pride in doing regularly.

Trip details changed after the reservation was made. Communication with Captian Experiences was poor to say the least. They notified me that the trip details (expected catch) changed and I shouldn’t expect to catch the species the listing claimed. Then, it was more than FIVE DAYS before they reached out again and failed to respond to several texts. The boat was nice, but not super clean. Captain was experienced but not flexible to adjust the agreement after it was gravely misrepresented. I expected to catch larger fish, as per the listing agreement. If you want to catch a bunch of small lane snapper about 8 to 12” long this is the trip for you - if you want a real opportunity to catch some larger grouper or other mid size fish, you’d likely be disappointed with this “no frills” experience.
