About Your Trip

Step aboard with Captain Douglas and experience some of the best fishing Saginaw Bay has to offer! Based out of Linwood, Michigan, Captain Douglas operates out of a prime spot on Lake Huron’s famous bay, giving you easy access to some of the hottest fishing grounds. With over 40 years as a certified captain and a lifetime spent fishing, Captain Douglas knows these waters like the back of his hand and is dedicated to making your trip one to remember.

You’ll be fishing aboard a 30’ Sea Ray cruiser, powered by twin 340 HP Mercury engines and restored in 2016 with all the modern comforts. This boat is built to keep you comfortable while you focus on the action—featuring a kitchen, bed, and full toilet for a smooth ride and a little extra luxury on the water. But make no mistake: this boat is a serious fishing machine. Outfitted with a livewell, outriggers, and space for up to 16 trolling lines, it’s fully equipped to help you reel in the catch of the day.

Saginaw Bay is a Walleye wonderland, and these prized fish are your primary target throughout the season. Known for their strength and size, Walleye are a thrill to catch and will keep you on your toes from the initial strike to the final reel-in. In late summer, from August through September, Yellow Perch join the action, giving anglers even more chances to land something tasty. Both of these species make for excellent table fare, so prepare for the thrill of the fight—and a delicious payoff at the end of the day.

Captain Douglas is committed to getting you on the fish, using his extensive local network to stay updated on where the bite is best. Once you’ve reached your limit, his first mate will clean and prepare your catch so it’s ready to take home—just remember to bring a cooler to keep it fresh for the journey back. With Captain Douglas’s expertise, you’re in for an action-packed day and a great meal to follow!

Please note that Saginaw Bay has legal limits for both Walleye and Perch, and if you hit your limit, the trip may end a bit early. So get ready for an unforgettable Great Lakes fishing experience with Captain Douglas, and see for yourself why anglers return to these waters year after year!
