Climb aboard with Captain Ed for a reef and wreck adventure that puts you right in the heart of the Florida Keys’ nearshore fishing action! Launching out of Marathon, this 4 to 6-hour trip is a perfect window into the wild variety the Keys are famous for—from backcountry channels and patch reefs to the deeper wrecks just off the coast, all with the turquoise waters of both the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico as your playground.

You'll be fishing from a 31’ Stamas center console that’s as comfortable as it is capable, powered by a reliable 315 HP Yanmar engine and equipped with top-tier electronics, a live bait well, and yes—even a private restroom onboard. Whether you're a family with kids, a crew of serious anglers, or somewhere in between, this boat’s layout and amenities make it a great choice for everyone.

Captain Ed is all about variety, and this trip brings it. Depending on your goals and conditions, you might be bottom fishing the reefs for Mangrove and Mutton Snapper, jigging up Hogfish and Rainbow Runners, or trolling the wreck lines for Kingfish, Cero and Spanish Mackerel. If you’re up for some drag-screaming fun, Bull Sharks and Bonnetheads are known to lurk these waters, along with the occasional Cobia cruising by. There’s even the chance to tangle with a Cubera Snapper or a heavyweight Black Grouper hiding down in the structure. You never quite know what might hit next out here!

All rods, reels, tackle, and live bait are included, and you’ll have access to a variety of techniques—bottom fishing, jigging, trolling, live bait, and light tackle setups—to match your target species and fishing style. Captain Ed knows how to dial it in for your group, whether you're brand new to the sport or have a few hundred casts under your belt.

Want to kick back with some tunes or bring a few cold beers along? Go for it! The boat supports Bluetooth music, and you’re welcome to bring your own drinks—just no glass, please. Captain Ed will also clean your catch at the end of the trip, so you're all set to enjoy a fresh fish dinner back on land.

How did you get started guiding?

Grandfather was a tackle store owner and a great fisherman as well as my father. So it was a natural fit for me and my sons.

What makes you different from other guides?

We pride ourselves on the experience and memories we help our customers create. We are family owned and operated. I have 3 sons 2 of them are also in the fishing industry, one who is my first mate and working his way towards becoming a captain as wwell. Fishing with small children is our specialty, we also cater to handicapped clients who need more attention and understanding. We are also pet friendly and dogs are welcome aboard our boat.

Sunscreen is important for some as well as hats and polarized sun glasses. And adequate clothing for time of year and temperatures.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
