Captain Bruce's trips are all about flexibility and fun. Prefer catch and release? No problem! Want to take home your hard-earned catch? He’ll clean it up for you after the trip, and you can even bring it to a local restaurant to enjoy a fresh, chef-prepared meal while swapping fishing tales with your crew.

You’ll be fishing aboard a 24’ Dorado, a sleek and versatile boat built for the local waters. Powered by a 200 HP Mercury engine, this vessel can hit speeds of up to 40 knots, ensuring you spend more time fishing and less time cruising. With a shallow draft and stable fishing platform, this boat is perfect for navigating the skinny waters of the flats or getting up close to productive backcountry spots. Comfortably accommodating up to 4 anglers, it’s ideal for families, friends, or small groups looking for a private, personalized adventure.

When it comes to gear, Captain Bruce spares no expense. You’ll be outfitted with high-quality St. Croix and Star rods paired with Shimano and Daiwa reels—top-of-the-line equipment that makes battling even the feistiest fish a breeze. Most trips feature live bait, which Captain Bruce will have ready before you even arrive, so you can hit the ground running (or, in this case, the water casting). Fly fishing is also available upon request, but make sure to book it in advance and bring a bit of prior experience to make the most of the day.

For the serious anglers out there, the full-day trip is the ultimate fishing experience. Spend the day hopping between the best fishing spots in the area, whether that means inshore flats, nearshore reefs, wrecks, or deep into the backcountry. With a full day on the water, you’ll have the chance to target a wide variety of species, including Tarpon, Goliath Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Permit, Bonefish, Blacktip Shark, and more! Whether you’re jigging, popping, spinning, or bottom fishing, Captain Bruce will tailor the trip to your preferences and ensure you’re having a blast.

Captain Bruce’s expertise extends across a wide range of fishing styles and target species. Depending on the season and conditions, you can try your hand at:

Fishing licenses are included in the price of your trip, but keep in mind there’s an additional $30 fee per boat for entering the Everglades National Park. Don’t forget to bring snacks, drinks, sunblock, and a good attitude—Captain Bruce will handle the rest!

I grew up on an Indian Reservation and have been fishing since I was 5 years old. Had I known when I was younger that I could fish for a living, that would have been my trade of choice from the beginning! As we all know, life happens, and life led me to become a plumber by trade and raise and provide for my family. After raising my family, I decided I wanted to fish and play in the water rather than work on the water running through pipes. This led me to become a boat captain and start charter fishing over 20 years ago. I can't imagine a job I would enjoy more, and I look forward to doing my job (that I don't consider a job) every day!

All rods, reels, and tackle are included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and any gear of your own you want to use on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, bait, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
