When Captain Rodney was laid off in May 2016 from the oilfield, his son was also diagnosed with cancer. He immediately had to find an alternative resource to support his family.

He had owned his 27' Catamaran since 2012 and figured he'd have to sell her to make ends meet. Instead, Captain Rodney's wife told him that he should put the boat to work given his love of fishing.

After I was laid off from my career, I had a boat and knew a guy with a Captain's license. We thought we'd do some fishing to pay the bills until our jobs came back, but I'm still fishing.
What makes you different from other guides?
This may sound cliche, but my passion and love for the sport. I'm the quiet guy who's always got fish when I come back to the dock.

Everything Else to Know

All gear is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and any gear of your own you want to use on the trip.
You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
This trip is managed by an outfitter. Rodney will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Man did we get lucky, paid for the nearshore 8 hours and Captain Rodney was nice enough to have his offshore boat come pick us up 20 miles offshore to take us deep sea fishing because we wanted to catch red snappers. Captain Jeb was absolutely phenomenal while my Non fisherman 11 year old and me were seasick he attended to my 12 your old fisherman who’s dream was to catch a shark!
Mission accomplished:)
My kids have had a rough year and this trip was very important to us! Jeb you knocked it out of the park .
