About Your Trip

Whether you’re looking to ease into the season with light tackle Bass or go all-out offshore for giant Haddock and Cod, Captain Ira has the perfect trip for every level of angler and every style of groundfishing. From scenic inshore cruises to action-packed full-day bottom fishing adventures, these trips let you experience the best of New England’s waters with an expert crew and a fully equipped vessel at your service.

For early risers or families
looking for a lighter experience, the 5-hour inshore trip runs from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and is ideal for targeting Striped Bass and early-season Haddock close to shore. As a bonus, you’ll enjoy a gorgeous river cruise and the chance to spot wildlife—sometimes even whales in the summer! This is a relaxing, scenic, and productive option that blends sightseeing with the thrill of fishing.

Looking to up the tempo? Step into the action with the 8-hour combo trip, departing at 6:00 a.m., where you’ll chase Bass and Bluefish before rounding out your day with groundfishing for Haddock and more. This trip is all about variety and constant action. You’ll start by bait fishing inshore, then head to the deeper Bass grounds for a shot at some hard-hitting fish, and finish with a bit of bottom fishing for a classic Cape Ann mixed-bag. It’s a great option for anglers who want to stay busy and sample all the area has to offer in a single trip.

If you’re all-in for a serious groundfish adventure, the 10-hour offshore trip is your ticket to the big leagues. Running from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., this trip is dedicated to hunting down slammer Haddock and massive Cod in deep water. Captain Ira provides all the bait and tackle you’ll need and takes care of fish cleaning and bagging at the end of the day—so you can head home with a cooler full of fresh fillets and a story to match.

All trips depart aboard a spacious and well-outfitted 35’ Harris boat with room for up to six anglers. The vessel includes a toilet, bed, kitchen, refrigerator, multimedia system, GPS, fishfinder, radar, flybridge, and live bait well—offering comfort and capability for every trip length. Your fishing license is included, and the friendly first mate is on board to assist throughout the day. Snacks are provided, and you're welcome to bring your own food and drinks (just avoid glass bottles and stick to moderation with alcohol).

No matter which trip you choose, you’ll enjoy top-tier equipment, expert guidance, and the chance to reel in some of New England’s tastiest and most iconic fish. Captain Ira is all about delivering memorable days on the water, so bring your sunblock, sunglasses, and sense of adventure—your next favorite fishing trip starts here.
