About Your Trip

Head offshore for a legendary full-day hunt for giant Bluefin Tuna with Captain Michael out of Gloucester, Massachusetts!

Running from July 1st through October 31st, this is peak season for chasing some of the biggest and baddest fish in the Atlantic — and there's no better place to do it than Gloucester, a historic fishing hub known around the world for its Bluefin action. If you’ve ever dreamed of battling a true giant, this is
your shot.

You’ll head out around 5 AM aboard Captain Michael’s 40’ Dorado Bluewater Downeast-style vessel, purpose-built for offshore adventure and equipped with everything you need for an epic day at sea. With room for up to 6 passengers, this boat features a full toilet, bed, galley kitchen, fridge, outriggers, a live bait well, and all the tech — GPS, radar, and fishfinder — to keep you locked in on the bite. After 12 to 14 hours offshore, you’ll return to port with stories that’ll last a lifetime.

This trip is all about targeting giant Bluefin Tuna, and we mean giants — fish in the 300- to 1000-pound range are no exaggeration. You’ll start your day jigging up live bait, which will then be deployed as you drift the offshore banks and ledges where these monsters roam. Bluefin fishing is serious business, and Captain Michael and his experienced First Mate will walk you through everything — from baiting and rigging to harnessing in for the fight of your life. These fish can take hours to land, but when that reel starts screaming, you'll know exactly why you came.

All rods, reels, tackle, bait, and lures are included in the trip price, and your catch will be cleaned and filleted back at the dock. If your crew lands a Bluefin over 73 inches, it will be sold commercially — and you’ll receive 20% off your next charter as part of the reward.

Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, a cooler with drinks, a bagged lunch, and some rain gear — the weather offshore can shift quickly, and you’ll want to stay comfortable throughout this full-throttle experience.

Bluefin fishing in Gloucester is the stuff of fishing legends — now it’s your turn to live it. Book your trip with Captain Michael and get ready to chase giants!
