About Your Trip

Step aboard a 31-foot Tiara Open and set your sights on one of the most thrilling freshwater challenges North America has to offer—the mighty Muskie. Kicking off on the first Saturday in June, the official opening day of Muskie season on Lake St. Clair marks the beginning of a true angling adventure. These 6, 8, or 12-hour trips are built for chasing the fish of 10,000 casts—Lake St. Clair’s apex predator and one of the most elusive targets in freshwater fishing.

These trips are all about trolling for trophy-class Muskies. Known for their ferocity, massive size, and heart-pounding strikes, Muskie are a bucket list catch for any serious angler. On this short-run trolling trip, you’ll be fishing some of the lake’s prime territory with a seasoned crew who knows how to find and fool these legendary fish. While catching one is never guaranteed—this is Muskie, after all—the chance to battle one of these monsters makes every minute on the water electric.

The 1990 Tiara 3100 Open is your ride for the day, a 31-foot vessel with a wide 12-foot beam, comfortable amenities like a dinette, galley, and private head, and all the space you need to fight big fish and relax in between strikes. Built by Tiara S2 Yachts, this boat is rigged with all the electronics, downriggers, and heavy-duty tackle needed to track down and tangle with Muskie.

Your crew brings the expertise and gear—you just need to bring the essentials for a long day on the water. Pack sunglasses, sunblock, a hat, jacket, and layers like a sweatshirt to stay comfortable throughout the trip. Wear boat shoes, tennis shoes, or water shoes—leave flip flops and black-soled shoes at home—and bring rain gear just in case. Make sure you’ve got snacks, drinks, any daily medications you might need, and motion sickness pills if necessary. A camera is highly recommended—you’ll want proof if you land the top predator.

You'll also need to purchase a one-day fishing license, but hold off until the crew confirms whether you'll be fishing Ontario or Michigan waters. They'll let you know the day before your trip, so you're covered for whatever conditions bring.

This is your chance to go head-to-head with the fish of legends. From the adrenaline rush of the strike to the thrill of the fight, chasing Muskie on Lake St. Clair is a hardcore angling experience you won’t soon forget. Come ready for battle—the top predator awaits.
