The Spanish are back! The Sheepshead and bull redfish bite has been epic this past month. I'm noticing those sheepshead bites are starting to slow down a bit. However, the Spanish Mackeral bite is hotter than ever. We are slow trolling tree rigs just outside the pass and catching 3-4 mackerel at a time. A little bit farther out on the reefs we are catching some early season red snappers and triggerfish on almost every drop. The Spanish bite has been on fire lately. Red fish and speckled trout have been great in the afternoons. Kings are starting to run throughout the pass and around the wrecks

This 6 hour fishing charter was on the tail end of a cold front. With that we had some wind and some bigger than normal seas but this crew toughed it out! There main focus was to keep what they caught so we targeted vermilion snapper and trigger fish that were in season. We also caught some red snapper that went back. All in all I good day with some great people!

Spanish Mackerel have shown up in pretty good numbers inshore and Vermillion snapper are plentiful on 6 hour trips. Cobia are due any day now. There have been some 40lb Kingfish around as well but not so plentiful as to go and target them. There have been some reports that trout and redfish are biting in the bay.

The weather has been up and down, but I've been able to move the trips to better days. There is not much open to keep in the gulf ,so I have been doing well inshore. We mostly caught mangrove snapper, and a few other species.
