What's going on anglers! The beginning of March Beach bite has been relatively slow, we're mostly picking away at smaller whiting and more fish like jacks and ladyfish out of the surf. This is a promising sign of spring bait showing up as we transition into the spring weather pattern. Daylight savings will change the fish activity minutely, which helps us target fish from the surf earlier and later in the day.

With our conditions lately I have been staying busy fishing the river with mullet, in spring the fish that went deep out into the ICW or Ocean return to their tributaries to rest and spawn. Tarpon and snook will be moving into the rivers and will become a prominent target from land. Here is a slot snook & tarpon both caught on live mullet 2/0 circle hook and 30# leader. Tight lines!

pompano bite has been insane if the treasure coast of south east Florida limits almost every trip ... flounder live baiting off the jetties for some nice doormats .. and snook season opened last night and we killed it

Okeechobee bass fishing is picking up,with some bigger females showing up in the reeds and under mats,the peacock bass in the inland lakes and canals,took a hit with the cold weather, resulting in some fish kills,but overall,still a bunch of them.clown knife fish have been very active also,the speckled perch on okeechobee have been doing god,kinda hit and miss with the higher water the lakes holding,but if you find them,you can catch them!!

What is going on people!!! Happy new year to everyone. Here on the beaches of Melbourne we've seen the beginning of our pompano run. Though the fish aren't here in numbers that doesn't mean you can't catch your limit, being at the right place on the right tide is extremely important if this is a goal of yours. We've been catching fish FAR out beyond 100 yards focusing on using live shrimp cut into pieces tipped with Fishgum and clams tied onto bare hooks with magic thread. I'm having most success with lighter leader so don't be afraid to size...

Pompano fishing been hot on treasure coast of south Florida past few weeks, showing up in huge numbers. Beach fishing is a great way for kids and families to learn to surf fish and enjoy the day on the beach flounder and snook as well.

Surf fishing has been slow but productive unless you're after the toothy critters! We've been getting into whiting, and bluefish mostly but there are reports of pompano being caught here and there. Shark fishing has been as good as it gets for our area. The Trout family joined me for a night of shark fishing and they met their match with this Blacktip shark estimated around 70-80 pounds. Tight lines and good fishing!
