This is from dec but they are just starting to show back up with the blackfin tuna in close.
8 over 100# were caught on the piers (Pcola & Navarre )
And 3 by boat,
Hooked ours around 7am , fought for a hr 15 min , at the end the angler just felt " dead weight " , we thought maybe it got 🦈 sharked, but it actually had a heart attack and was dead as a door nail!!!!
150# on a certified ifga scale, hooked it in 35ft , landed in 40ft. Crazy stuff!

Winter fishing continues to be strong. The slot redfish continue to be active and the sheepshead bite has picked up. While the total fish counts are less than summer, the caught fish are larger and frequently keeper size.

Inshore: Flounder are being found around inlets, sandy cuts, docks, bridge pilings, and along channel edges. Mud minnows or finger mullet on a jighead or Carolina rig are producing best. Work the bait slowly along the bottom with short hops and pauses. Sheepshead and black drum are holding tight to structure, especially piers, bridges, rock jetties, and barnacle-covered docks. Offshore: Snapper and grouper (season-dependent) are stacked on structure such as natural bottom, ledges, and wrecks. Live pinfish, vermilion, squid strips, and cut bait are all effective—be mindful of current and use enough weight to stay on bottom. Pelagics like mahi,...

Pelagics like mahi, wahoo, and tuna (season-dependent) are showing along rips, temperature breaks, weed lines, and color changes. Rigged ballyhoo and skirted trolling lures are working well; if fish are up, topwater action can be hot. Troll the edges and circle back to thoroughly work any floating debris.

Bottom fishing has been hot for Nov & Dec .
We have a good consistent black fin run every fall to spring or so here in the panhandle. For the last 5 or 6 years, anyway.
This year, some 100-150# yellowfins came in with the blackfins, 2 were landed on Pensacola pier. About 10 or so were hooked on the pier, fought for 3 to 5 hours on spinning gear, and lost at the pier.

We had a good run on back snapper along with the red snapper. Out of Pensacola pass lots of large vermillion snapper. Good catches of Amber jacks for a fun fight and release.

Capt Don was super helpful and had a ton of knowledge about the area we were fishing. I brought my young daughter and he was patient and caring. We both had a wonderful time and yes…she caught more than me and the biggest fish!! Great memories made.

Bobby was an excellent guide, knew his stuff and was as helpful as any guide I have been on a trip with. Good conversation while on the move and he set us up with a really good time and big fish. 5 stars from me. Thanks from Tim

Bobby was a great captain! We did the inshore/jetty trip. He made sure my youngest got to reel in a fish. He taught the teens a thing or two about fishing as well. Down to earth fun guy!

Don is a GREAT captain! He took us to a great fishing spot and we got a fish on the boat within the first 10 minutes! He was very patient and informative with our kids (5 and 7) which we are very appreciative of. The boat was clean and the equiptment was great too. Don took care of everything and we are so glad it all worked out! It really was one of the highlights of our trip. Thanks Don!!

Bobby was incredible. He put us on spot after spot fighting these fish after a full moon. He was on point every time a bait was taken replacing it and throwing the lines back out. Even if we didn’t catch a feast, we have a great time making memories!

    Trip: Shark Fishing Insanity

Bobby was absolutely wonderful making sure all of us were having a great time during our 3 hour trip. He explained the various techniques of fishing that we used and helped my first-time-boat-fishing 8-yr old grandson land a red drum! He was quick to leave and head for a better spot when the fish stopped biting. We got a gafftopsail catfish and speckled trout that were keepers (the red drum was too big to keep). Bobby was exceptional at coordinating the fishing lines and making sure everyone was baited and actively fishing. It was a great day and I hope we can return for another trip in the not too distant future!
