The sun finally came out and the wind stopped blowing. Tides are coming up and putting lots of feeding fish in very shallow, clear water. They have been a little picky about what flies they want, but they are aggressively chasing shrimp

Fishing has been great over the last 7 days, but totally different this year than previous years. Usually by now the sheepshead have started moving out and the reds are gettin full on hungry and bitin, but we are still catching some sheeps as of yesterday along with more keeper reds, some trout, flounder and even some bull reds. Wind has been pretty brutal, so jetty fishing is hard this time of year, but we are seeing some bull reds move into the jetty along with jack crevalle. The flats have been hit or miss and you just have to...

Wind has been pretty brutal, so jetty fishing is hard this time of year, but we are seeing some bull reds move into the jetty along with jack crevalle. The flats have been hit or miss and you just have to really know fish patterns to stay on top of finding them. There are bull reds bitin in spots I haven’t seen before, and the trout seem to be much more active, but we are catchin lots of shorts. It’s not hard to find fish, but it is fun this time of year to figure out what the fish are bitin on and when they are the hungriest. They might love some soft plastics one day, then hate them the next and want some live bait. That might even be the same scenario from morning to afternoon and since I am on the water almost every day, I see the changes. Yesterday was a slam of a great morning with my two customers, but by my afternoon trip with only one customer on the boat, even though we caught 8 different species of fish, all but two were short of being keepers. We did come home with fish for him to take home for dinner, but we fought hard for it!
Fishing is heating up in the Aransas Pass area right along with the weather!
As the water temperatures rise fish will become more aggressive making it much easier for us to pin point a feeding pattern.
Redfish and keeper sized black drum have been the target species these last few weeks. Fresh dead shrimp has been the bait of choice for the black drum. Some days they prefer the shrimp completely peeled. Always give that a try if they don't seem to like it with the shell on.
Most of our Redfish catches have been while using fresh dead shrimp...

Most of our Redfish catches have been while using fresh dead shrimp or cut up blue crab. Also a few on live pinfish and cut mullet.
Seasons are changing fast and spring break is only a few weeks away. Fishing should only get better from here. Come on down and try your luck!

This experience was EPIC. We were blown away by Tommy’s knowledge and his keen instinct of where the fish were. It was INCREDIBLE. This captain has over 30 years on these waters and we are confident he is the fish whisperer of the Rockport waters
We will never go on a trip with anyone but Captain Tommy. Book with him , you WILL NOT regret it BEST EXPERIENCE EVER
CAUGHT LOADS OF FISH AND GOT OUR REDFISH TOO!!!!
Wesley was knowledgeable and friendly. Not a good fishing day for anyone on the waters but Wesley kept us moving and looking. Will definitely sign up again.
Great morning with Travis. Got us onto fish straight away and our two boys loved it. A 30” redfish started things off and we finished with a 5-6ft alligator gar, with plenty of others between them. Highly recommend a trip out with Travis!
We had a wonderful time with captain Tommy! He was attentive to our needs and helped us catch three beautiful red fish! He had many years of experience and it shows. Highly recommended!
Tommy could not have been more easy going, I took my 14 year old daughter and he could not have more patient with her.
We caught a tagged red, along with multiple other keepers.
You know you have a good guide when all the other guides are asking him where the fish are.
Thank you Tommy I will be fishing with you again soon.
I brought my teenage sons to Rockport for their first red trip. Tommy was the perfect guide for us. He was patient, helpful and took the time to teach us about the reds and how they move. He talked to them about proper technique and how important it is to be patient. Tommy is the best. And he put us on fish as soon as the anchor dropped. The boys had the best day they’ve ever had fishing. We landed ten and put 6 in the cooler. My son Zeke landed the red of the day at 31.5”. He gladly released the fatty when Tommy explained the importance of those big fish to the breeding cycle. All in all a perfect day on the water thanks to Tommy. We’ll see you again Captain.
Amazing trip! Chandler is personable and makes the trip a great time! Even before the trip, we communicated well and had the day planned out very well! He knows his stuff! Highly recommend!
