Lake Austin Fishing Report – Early Summer Update

Lake Austin is at a normal level with clear water and roughly 4–6 feet of visibility. Water temperatures are around 72°, and bass are holding shallow, mostly in less than 6 feet of water around flats with submerged vegetation. Fish are currently
in a mix of spawning and post-spawn phases, and many are grouped up in specific areas across the lake.

The most consistent action has been coming on drop-shot rigged finesse worms and Neko-rigged creature baits worked through shallow grass flats. Once an active group of fish is located, anglers are often able to catch multiple bass from the same small stretch of water. Overall, the bite has been solid with steady action throughout the day.

Lady Bird Lake Fishing Report – Spring Update

Lady Bird Lake is at a normal level with clear water and about 4–6 feet of visibility. Water temperatures are around 68°, and bass are holding shallow, generally less than 15 feet deep. Fish are relating heavily to submerged vegetation in and
around spawning areas, with some still actively spawning and others staging nearby.

The most consistent bite has been coming on Texas-rigged stick worms worked through submerged grass. Anglers have been finding success by covering water until they locate fish, then slowing down and thoroughly fishing those areas to pick up multiple bites. While the bite has been fairly steady throughout the day, the afternoon hours have been slightly more productive overall.

Lake Austin is at a normal level with clear water and about 4–6 feet of visibility. Water temperatures are around 65°, and bass are in all phases of the spawn. Fish are holding shallow across the lake, and it’s common to run into small groups that can produce quick flurries of action before things slow down again.

The most consistent bite has been coming on finesse presentations, especially drop-shot rigged worms and Texas-rigged stick worms worked through submerged vegetation on the main lake. Anglers have been finding success by focusing on productive grass areas, where bass are staging, spawning, or guarding beds, and taking their time to thoroughly fish each stretch.

Inks Lake Fishing Report – Late Winter / Pre-Spawn Update

Inks Lake is currently at a normal level with stained water and about 2–4 feet of visibility. Water temperatures are sitting around 56°, and bass are starting to transition toward early pre-spawn patterns after the recent freeze. The main spawning
activity is likely still a few weeks away, but fish are beginning to move and group up.

The most consistent action has been coming from crankbaits worked around rocky areas and shaky head rigged finesse worms fished around docks, primarily in 5–12 feet of water. Bass are often holding in small groups, so anglers may experience slower stretches between bites, but it’s common to catch multiple fish once an active area is located. Slowing down and thoroughly fishing productive structure has been key to putting together solid days on the water.

January 2026- Lake Travis - fish are out deep on ledges and channel swings in 30 to 40 ft, fish very slowly with soft plastics like a drop shot or wacky worm, jigs with craw trailers also working well with a slow presentation, when the bass are feeding and a little bit more active we are catching them on umbrella rigs, small finesse swim baits, and crank baits with a very tight wobble like a rapala shad rap.

Inks Lake is currently at a normal level with stained water and about 3–4 feet of visibility. Water temperatures have dropped into the low 50s, and bass are beginning to group up as winter conditions continue to settle in. Overall, cloudy days have been producing slightly better action than bright, sunny conditions.

The most consistent bite right now has come from crankbaits and jigs worked around rocky areas in 2–14 feet of water. Bass are often holding tightly in small areas, so while there may be slow stretches between bites, it’s common to catch multiple fish once an active group is located. With a strong cold front moving in, anglers can expect the lake to transition even more firmly into classic winter fishing patterns in the coming days.

Great day on the water with Ander and my friend Vance. I got to keep two of the bigger fish that I caught to eat! They tasted great with some blackening spices and butter. I'll recommend Ander to anyone looking to have a wonderful time fishing!

We had an excellent trip with Jake. He’s very knowledgeable and patient. Two of our three are brand new to fishing and he was incredibly helpful and made it fun. He was able to help the group catch a ton of fish, including personal bests for the more experienced angler in our group. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Thanks Jake!
