Decker Lake - We are catching huge numbers of bass that are roaming open waters in search of schools of Shad. We are targeting these fish with electronics and catching them with swimbaits and jerkbaits.

Fishing on lake decker has been really good! In the mornings we are fishing light drop shot on the outside grass lines. When the sun gets high we are moving offshore to rock piles in 12-18 feet. Fishing shakey heads, drop shots and cranks baits.

Decker- We are doing well chasing actively feeding bass on the surface with soft jerkbaits. Just keep your eyes peeled for surface activity around the lake. We had an awesome trip with Captain John! He was an absolute pro and knew where to take us to find the schools. Even with less-than-perfect conditions, John put us right on top of the action. We caught a huge variety — stripers, white bass, drum, and some catfish! All six of us landed several fish and had a fantastic time out on the water. John filleted our catch at the dock, and we made ceviche the same day. Highly recommend booking with Captain John.

110% book this guy if your ever in the Austin area. This guide knows his stuff. Myself and a couple of teenagers were on fish quick and the catching lasted the entire trip. He knows the spots and the baits. Complete professional when it comes to accommodating and encouraging guests. We fished Lady Bird Lake and easily caught 40 fish in a morning trip. Most of the fish were heavy, no dinks. Step out of a downtown high rise, onto a boat deck, at Lady Bird and slay them with this guy or hit a surrounding Austin area lake if that’s your thing.
