The spring migration of bait and the gamefish that follow the bait as it influxes into the Lower Laguna Madre is starting now. Catching solid redfish and speckled trout on both artificial baits and fresh cut bait. The windier days in the spring can make for some productive redfish trips. That wind gets everything stirred up and those redfish get hungry. Catching speckled trout along shallow bars next to deeper water transitions, as the sun gets higher those specks will tend to move into adjacent deeper waters. Month of May means east winds. Clear clean water is being pushed in from the Gulf, bringing in trophy size jack crevalle on the troll as well as king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, and bonita fish.

March and April have been great for the weather. We’ve been catching a large variety of fish and doing a lot of 3-hour play days with large family groups! Nothing but smiles and good times here.

Fishing has been good with shrimp and cut bait for reds. You can run into a bunch of sheep head right now too at the jetties and under the docks, when it's not blowing 30+ it's been good!
