Fishing is heating up here on our beautiful Laguna Madre! Corpus Christi Texas's bay system hosts one of the biggest bull red migrations. Beginning now and moving into the late fall and early winter, schools are starting to move on the flats that border deeper water on their movement out to the Gulf of Mexico. Nice sized trout are being caught on grass lines that border deep drop offs and we are catching good numbers of redfish and trout on the flats with plastic lures and spoons. Fishing should only get better as we head into the fall months!

Hello fans, thanks for stopping by! This summer season we were blessed to have fished (again) out of New Orleans in June and July. Tt was truly epic- our best season yet. Please stay tuned as we plan to do it again next summer! Also below, please see some of the highlight photos. As for local conditions. Friends it is HOT.. For that reason I've recently added a shade area to the boat, all guests can use it when the heat gets to you. Also, we are choosing to start just a bit earlier so that we can take advantage of the coolest part of the day 6:30- 12 noon. I also strongly recommend bringing more hydrating drinks like Gatorade or other, as always water is provided. As for the bite, it is good! It turns on when it wants to...sometimes early other times late in day, it mainly depends on tides and water movement! When you book, we will speak on the phone just a few days prior to our trip, on that call I will advise when it will be best! Currently, we are finding a good Snapper (Mangrove/ Gray) bite along with plentiful small Snook. Trout have gone missing, Tripletail are spotty and our favorite- Redfish are hitting our decks on a somewhat regular basis.

Fishing has been hot and cold, much like the water lately. Southerly winds are causing unwilling and it shuts the fishing down. When we get northerly or westerly winds, and the water heats up, the fishing turns on. We have been picking flounder off the reefs, and shorts un the back. There are triggerfish and sea bass on the reef structure as well. Ribbonfish made an appearance on a few of the wrecks too. In the surf we have been getting small weakies and blues, kingfish and spot. Occasional sharks and rays too.

The fishing has been good, it’s hot of course, but the bite has been great early in the morning and later in the evening. Speckled trout have been doing really good under the birds, and the reds are pushing to deeper water to cool down, but the bit is still hot!

Fishing report from Chad P. in Tiki Island, Texas

Fishing remains consistent when the weather has made it possible to fish. Still plenty of trout in most spots, with the typical higher numbers of juvenile trout caught in summertime. Still finding trout in Galveston Bay suspended in 6' of water close to oysterbeds. We've been seeing plenty of redfish if the customers are willing to wade and/or pay extra for croaker as bait. Shrimp had yielded mostly undersized trout and unwanted by catch.

Fishing has been great. Baffin producing reds and trout on croaker. Trout thick on grass lines south of Bird Island on DOA cals. Drum good around Packery on fresh dead shrimp. Lots of Flounder moving on edges of steep drop offs close to flats.

Had my Oilmans group take 1st in the red fish division with a 8.4 pounds and 1st in the triple tail with 24.5 pounder My other groups have been catching steady on shrimp under a popping cork. But the big bites have been coming from wading throwing top waters in the morning and moving out to deeper water in the afternoons

Fishing has gotten hot. Winds have been blowing for weeks and has kept us out of the ocean. We have been inshore fishing which has been producing flounder, redfish, specked trout, lady fish and some black drum. Top water bites have been fun early and as the sun gets up we start fishing deeper to get the bites.

Fishing has been good when the bite turns on in Morehead city. we've been dealing with extremely high winds and dirty water, 2 straight weeks of downpours and SW winds 15-25kts have made it tough, but using cut bait under corks, on protected banks, oyster rocks, and drop offs has produced solid bites!

Fishing report from Harry A. in Galveston, Texas Book a trip with Captain Harry here.

Although my traditional fishing areas for this time of year aren't producing very well, I have found some other areas that are producing . Some customers are wanting to only catch redfish and I have been fortunate to locate some . Some customers have been wanting speckled trout. And some days they cooperate and we are able to get our limit early before it gets too hot. And some days we have to work for them. Speckled trout have been best on live croaker. And the redfish have been consistent on popping cork and shrimp.

Fishing report from Jon H. in Galveston, Texas

Fishing has been excellent the last few weeks on Galveston bay. Lots of trout and redfish up shallow on sandbars in clean water has been the ticket for wading following the schools of mullet. Trout and bull reds have been thick in the surf when the wind allows. Mid bay reefs have also produced a solid trout bite in 4-6' of water.

Fishing report from Todd V. in New Smyrna Beach, Florida

While the fishing for Bull Reds hasn't been what was expected this time of year the other species have been really active. Night fishing at the causeways has been good for Snook with an occasional Red. I had a charter with international customers following Icast last week and they caught 19 species. One was the monster Barracuda which ate another one which was a permit the customer had battled for 5 minutes and had to the boat twice before it became bait. The reds have been there during prime tide times. Still getting some slot size reds in the lagoon on artificial with an occasional trout.
