Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

What month is best for on a topwater fishing charter in Alabama?

Awesome trip! Caught red snapper and king mackerel. Tim made sure we had plenty of fish to take home and fileted them for us.

Best charter we've had. We've paid twice as much chartering with others and had half the success. We will use Captain Tim every time! - Chad & Stacie, Branson MO

We chose the worse day to go, it had rained that morning and they had already gotten about 13” of rain. We only caught 2 but Captain Shawn worked his tail off trying every spot he could to put us on fish but they were just not biting. He was so much fun to fish with and as I said he tried. His fishing gear is top notch and his boat is very clean and he is very knowledgeable about the area! We will be using him again for sure! Just remember a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work!

We had an awesome fishing experience in Gulf Shores with Shawn! He did a great job guiding the less experienced fishermen in our group. He took time to learn about us and was easy to talk to. Great experience and would definitely do it again!
