Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

What month is best for sheepshead fishing in Alabama?

The most popular season for sheepshead fishing in Alabama is summer, and most anglers book their trips 18 days in advance.

Bobby made this trip very enjoyable, put us on some really good fish and limited out on the snapper. Also told us of a great restaurant to have the fish prepared today.

Trip: Offshore Snapper Trip State Waters

Captain Randy and Lacy were beyond amazing. I brought my family out on an 5 hour nearshore charter. Unfortunately, within the first hour we had 2/5 of the family seasick. He offered to bring us back to shore. We took him up on it. I figured that was it for the trip. I was wrong. We were able to make arrangements on the way in and the 2 that were sick were able to get back home and get some rest. We stopped briefly to use the restroom and turned right back out. We headed out further to a different rig where we were immediately into fish. I honestly can not tell you how many fish my 6 and 13 year old kids caught. In addition to a cooler full of fish, we saw a shark, lots of dolphins and a sea turtle. To cap it off, on the way back there was a squall that spawned a water spout. We got lots of pictures and memories from the trip. Captain Randy’s website says he caters to kids and families, this is one of the rare ones that went so much further than what they advertised. If you have young ones, look no further! Conditions were rough, but he worked to put us on fish and made sure that the kids caught fish and had fun. My 6 year old literally fished until her eyes rolled back and she fell asleep. This was our first trip here, but it will not be our last. Thank you so much!

We did a short trip with Cade. He was very accommodating to fit in a trip around the weather on the day we had planned. He communicated with us throughout. Then very comfortable and pleasant trip, quick and attentive with us to keep our lines in the water. He made the experience exactly what my son and I hoped for. Highly recommended! If we go back to the gulf shores we will definitely look him up again!
