What types of cobia fishing charters are common in Alabama?

Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

Even if you’ve got a great setup already in your home waters, booking a guide also provides a great opportunity to experience new techniques, new locations, or even a chance at a new target species to knock off the bucket list.

What month is best for cobia fishing in Alabama?

The most popular season for cobia fishing in Alabama is summer, and most anglers book their trips 35 days in advance.

We had a great experience! Bryan and his first mate took great care of us. Made sure to put us on fish quickly and adjusted the trip to take care of our son who got a little seasick.

Captain Steve was fantastic! He put us right on top of the fish! He took us to the right spots to limit out on all the different fish in season. His mate Wes was a hero. He managed 5 of us and got all the fish in the boat! We brought home a freezer FULL of fish. I'll be seeing Capt. Steve again next year!!

We had an awesome day NOT fishing the highly pressured oil rigs. Captain Wilder took us out too a very small reef where we caught our limit of good size red snapper and a couple other species. On several occasions, we were hooked up 3 at a time! We ended the day catching a 3 foot shark. Captain Wilder was very attentive and I would highly recommend.

Trip: Deep Sea Fishing *CATCH GIANTS*

Rob was disorganized and the condition of his boat was proof of this. He provided zero assistance for trying to catch the targeted game fish of red snapper. We caught not one snapper while watching surrounding boats pull them in time and time again. He was snippy to one of my guest when trying to land a fish. There are no pictures because the only fish we caught was 1 lucky flounder and three Spanish mackerel which are too gamey for my taste. I will never use nor would I recommend Rob as a fishing guide again. Zero stars.
