Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. This time of year offers exciting opportunities for trolling, casting, and bottom fishing along the coastline.

Summer, from June to August, marks peak nearshore fishing season in Dania Beach. The warm Atlantic waters attract a wide range of species including snapper, grouper, and various types of sharks. Anglers can also target pelagic species such as sailfish and tuna, which are commonly found near offshore reefs and drop-offs. Anglers often use live baits such as pilchards or mullet, or artificial lures like jerkbaits or swimbaits, casting near jetties, bridges, or inlets where Snook congregate. Early mornings and evenings are prime times, as these fish are most active during low-light periods. Techniques such as drift fishing with live baits or casting around structure can yield successful catches, requiring a mix of patience and skill to navigate the often turbulent nearshore waters.

Another sought-after species near Dania Beach is Tarpon, prized for their size and acrobatic leaps when hooked. Anglers typically target Tarpon using live mullet or crabs, or large artificial plugs and flies, fishing near channels, flats, or inlets where Tarpon migrate seasonally. Techniques such as sight-casting or trolling with deep-diving plugs can be effective, requiring stout tackle to handle the sheer power of these strong-fighting fish.

For those looking for a different challenge, nearshore fishing at Dania Beach also offers opportunities to target Barracuda. These toothy predators are known for their aggressive strikes and high-speed runs. Anglers typically use wire leaders with flashy lures like spoons or tube baits, trolling along drop-offs or near reefs where Barracuda hunt for smaller fish. Timing is crucial, with early mornings or late afternoons often providing the best chances to encounter these formidable game fish. Understanding their hunting behavior and adjusting lure speed and depth can increase the likelihood of a successful hookup, making Barracuda a thrilling target for experienced anglers seeking a fast-paced nearshore adventure.

My family and I had an epic day with Taco! Taco and his mate were super welcoming as we jumped on board, and it was clear he runs a super clean and well maintained sportfish. We were on fish in no time with my brother-in-law fighting the fish of his life, a giant Amberjack! From there, we spread the kites and caught mahi, bonita, and a beautiful sailfish. Whole fam had a blast and Taco stole the show, we'll be back! – Jonathan with Captain Experiences

We had a wonderful time with Edmond. He was very prepared for the trip and he did his best to make sure we had every opportunity to catch fish. The bite was tough to get today and we had a few hits that slipped the hook. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed ourselves. I would go with him again.

I took the family (wife, 2 boys and grandma) for a 6 hour charter and had a great time with Captain Ron and the crew, Chris and Brian. They were friendly, safety conscious and knowledgeable. Listening to other boats on the radio that day, the fishing wasn't great yet we hooked a barracuda and a bonita almost as soon as we dropped lines. This was followed up with a nice size mahi that grandma fought 😂 (they cleaned dockside and we took home to eat), 3 more barracudas and an amberjack. Chris was on the ball with keeping bait fresh and when we had multiple fish on, he had complete control of the cockpit. Pick up and drop off was easy. The boat had A/C and a bathroom that was a must have given the family and on a hot day, this made all the difference. I'd rebook the charter.

My son and I went on a 4 hour fishing trip from Pompano Beach through the Hillsboro Beach Inlet. Captain Dave and mate Tom crewed the boat. They were both professional and very friendly. They made us feel welcome immediately and Captain Dave in particular showed interest in my son who had not been on a deep sea trip previously. They both made the utmost efforts to find us fish. They told us that the morning trip had been pretty quite but they did a lot to find fish, which they did. We ended up landing 5 fish of different species and Tom was kind enough as well as skilled enough to clean the Mahi Mahi and Black Tuna for us to take with us. I would definitely go out with them again the next time we go.
