This trip is the perfect blend of rod-bending action and tropical island vibes, making it ideal for anglers of all skill levels—and a fantastic outing for families or groups of friends looking to experience Panama from a whole new perspective.

You’ll be fishing from a fully outfitted 31’ Bertram sportfisher that offers the best of both performance and comfort. With space for up to 7 guests, this classic fishing vessel comes equipped with Raymarine GPS, radar, and fishfinder systems, outriggers, downriggers, tuna tubes, a live bait well, and even a multimedia Bluetooth sound system so you can set the vibe while you chase your next catch. There’s also a toilet on board for your comfort, and air conditioning is available upon request (additional fee applies).

During your trip, you’ll hit several productive fishing spots surrounding the picturesque island trio—Chamá, Taboguilla, and Taboga. These rich waters offer a seasonal bounty of hard-fighting and great-eating fish. Depending on the time of year, you’ll be targeting favorites like Jack Crevalle, Sierra Mackerel, Snapper, Grouper, Pacific Bonito, False Albacore (Skipjack), Pacific Barracuda, and even the dazzling Mahi Mahi (Dolphin fish).

To keep the action going, Captain Rolando will put a variety of techniques to work, including light tackle, spinning, popping, trolling, and jigging—whichever method gets the fish biting! All rods, reels, tackle, lures, and even live bait (when available) are included, so all you need to bring is your sun gear and excitement.

You’re welcome to keep any legal catch, and the crew will clean and fillet your fish for you at no extra charge—so dinner plans are as fresh as they come. Bottled water is provided onboard, and catering can be arranged upon request if you'd like to enjoy a meal on the water or while anchored off one of the islands. You can also bring your own snacks and drinks—just no glass bottles or hard liquor, please.

The trip includes a helpful First Mate to assist throughout the day, and while tipping is optional, a gratuity of 10–20% is customary and always appreciated.

No fishing license is needed in Panama, so just show up ready for an epic day on the water. Whether you're in it for the thrill of the fight or the beauty of the islands, this full-day Taboga Island adventure with Captain Rolando offers the perfect mix of fishing, fun, and tropical relaxation.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
This trip is managed by an outfitter. Rolando will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 3 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 3 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
