About Your Trip

If you're ready for a full-throttle day of fishing and island-hopping adventure, this 9-hour trip to the Otoque, Estivá, and Boná Islands with Captain Rolando is the one to book. Nestled on the western edge of the Bay of Panama, these remote islands offer rocky shorelines, deep drop-offs, and strong currents that attract a wide variety of hard-fighting, trophy-worthy fish.

On this extended trip, you’ll have time to fully explore these rich waters using a
variety of techniques, from trolling and spinning to jigging, popping, bottom fishing, and live bait fishing (when available). The target list is stacked: Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Cubera Snapper, Broomtail Grouper, Sierra Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Roosterfish, Bonito (Skipjack), Pacific Barracuda, and even the elusive Sailfish could be in the mix—depending on season and sea conditions.

You’ll be fishing aboard a 31’ Bertram sportfisher that’s built for long-range runs and all-day comfort. Outfitted with Raymarine GPS, radar, and fishfinder, plus outriggers, tuna tubes, a live bait well, and Bluetooth audio system, this boat is fully geared for serious fishing. With room for up to 7 anglers, a private toilet onboard, and air conditioning available on request (small fee applies), you’ll be set for a productive and comfortable day offshore and nearshore.

Captain Rolando and his First Mate will make sure you're dialed in throughout the day. Whether you're battling fish near the rocky points of Boná or trolling deep blue water for pelagics, the crew is hands-on and dedicated to putting you on the bite.

All gear is included—rods, reels, tackle, lures, and bait (when available)—plus, they’ll clean and fillet any legal catch for you at no additional charge. Bottled water is provided, and if you’d like to arrange catering for lunch and snacks, just let them know ahead of time. You're also welcome to bring your own food and drinks—just no glass bottles or hard liquor, please.

As always, no fishing license is required in Panama. And with a knowledgeable First Mate on board (tips of 10–20% are customary), you’ll be well taken care of from lines in to lines out.

Between the extended fishing time, wide range of species, and remote island scenery, this 9-hour Otoque & Boná trip delivers one of the most complete fishing experiences in the region. Whether you're chasing your next personal best or just looking to load the cooler and enjoy an unforgettable day on the water, this trip has it all.
