If battling a prehistoric giant sounds like your kind of fishing trip, Captain Brandyn’s Fraser River sturgeon adventures deliver one of the most unforgettable freshwater experiences in North America. Fishing out of Abbotsford, BC, you’ll head onto the legendary Fraser River to target massive White Sturgeon—North America’s largest freshwater fish.

These ancient fish can reach incredible sizes, sometimes stretching over 10 feet long and weighing hundreds of pounds. When one takes the bait, be ready for a serious fight. Powerful runs, heavy headshakes, and long battles are all part of the experience, making every hookup a memorable test of strength and teamwork.

Captain Brandyn has spent his entire life fishing the Fraser River and knows the many channels, holes, and productive stretches where these giants roam. Depending on conditions, you’ll anchor up and fish proven bottom setups designed specifically for targeting sturgeon.

You’ll fish aboard a custom 22’ jet boat built for river fishing, powered by a 600 HP Chevrolet engine that can reach speeds up to 55 knots. This allows Captain Brandyn to quickly move between productive areas and stay on the bite throughout the day. The boat comfortably accommodates up to four anglers, making it a great trip for families or small groups.

All rods, reels, tackle, bait, and lures are provided, along with high-quality Shimano or Okuma gear. Fly fishing equipment is also available if you’re looking for an added challenge. Captain Brandyn will handle all the setup and assist throughout the trip so you can focus on the fight.

Sturgeon fishing is available year-round on the Fraser, with peak action typically running from March through November. Half-day and full-day trips are available for up to four anglers, giving you plenty of time to experience the thrill of hooking one of these incredible river giants.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
