About Your Trip

Start your day the right way on Lake Ontario out of Oswego, chasing some of the hardest-fighting freshwater fish around. This 6-hour morning charter is built around one goal—putting you on salmon and trout and keeping rods bending from first light on.

You’ll head out early as the sun comes up, running offshore to productive water where fish are actively feeding. Once lines are set, it’s game time. This fishery is known for big bites
and powerful fish, and when a rod fires off, it’s all hands on deck.

Target species include Chinook (King) Salmon, Coho Salmon, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Steelhead. Chinooks are the heavy hitters, often pushing 20–30+ pounds, while cohos bring speed and aerial action. Browns and rainbows round things out with steady bites and strong fights, and steelhead add that extra excitement with their jumps and long runs.

Fishing is done using trolling techniques, running multiple lines at different depths to stay on fish. You’ll be using a mix of downriggers, planer boards, and divers, covering water efficiently while dialing in where the fish are holding. It’s a methodical but exciting style of fishing—quiet stretches followed by chaos when a fish hits.

Everything you need is provided—rods, reels, tackle, and bait—so you can focus on the experience. The captain knows these waters well and adjusts throughout the trip to stay on the bite, whether that means changing depths, locations, or setups.

This trip is great for both experienced anglers and first-timers. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or just looking to experience Lake Ontario fishing, it’s a straightforward, productive way to do it.

From the early morning run out to the sound of a screaming reel, this is the kind of trip that keeps people coming back.
