About Your Trip

Combine two classic Adirondack experiences with a guided canoe or kayak fishing trip from Adirondack Mountain & Stream. These trips take us onto lakes, ponds, rivers, and backcountry waters throughout the Adirondacks, with each outing tailored around current fishing conditions, your target species, paddling experience, and how adventurous you want the day to be. We can launch directly from the roadside for a relaxed day of fishing, paddle into quieter water away from the crowds, or carry boats and gear into more remote ponds where getting there becomes part of the adventure.

Depending on the water and season, we can target Brook Trout, Lake Trout, Rainbow and Brown Trout, Landlocked Salmon, Northern Pike, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch, and other Adirondack species. Techniques can include casting, trolling, jigging, and fly fishing, and your guide will adjust tactics throughout the day based on conditions and fish activity. Portable sonar setups are also available for some of our fishing kayaks, giving us another tool when jigging deep water for Lake Trout, locating structure, or trolling.

We have a variety of canoes and fishing kayaks available, allowing us to match the boat to the angler and the type of water we'll be fishing. Some of our fishing kayaks offer stable platforms with plenty of room for tackle and equipment, while canoes are ideal for traditional Adirondack fishing and accessing waters where portability matters. Your guide will be right alongside you throughout the trip, helping with paddling, boat positioning, tackle, techniques, and locating fish. Beginners are welcome, and these trips can easily combine fishing instruction with basic canoe or kayak skills. Full-day trips include lunch, snacks, and water, and the necessary paddling and safety equipment is provided.

What makes these trips special is the freedom that comes with fishing from a small boat. A canoe or kayak can quietly slip along a shoreline, work into shallow bays and secluded coves, travel stretches of river, or reach remote ponds that larger boats simply can't access. Adirondack Mountain & Stream has been guiding throughout the region for more than four decades, and we use that experience to match each guest with the water and style of fishing they're looking for. Whether you want to cast for Pike and Bass from a fishing kayak, troll an Adirondack lake for trout, fly fish from a canoe, or carry into a secluded Brook Trout pond, we'll build the day around your interests and ability.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Jamie will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
