About Your Trip

Imagine waking up in a luxurious Pacific coast resort with a boat waiting to take you to some of the best billfishing waters in the world—welcome to your dream fishing vacation with Captain Ozzy. This all-inclusive experience features three full days of fishing, four nights of premium lodging, gourmet dining, and everything you need for an unforgettable adventure.

Guatemala’s Pacific coast is a global hotspot for billfishing, offering calm waters and unmatched Sailfish action. Peak
season (October–June) delivers 15–20 Sailfish bites per day, with top boats raising up to 40. The best captains release over 2,000 Sailfish annually! Beyond Sailfish, these waters are home to massive Tuna and Marlin, including Blue Marlin averaging 300–600 pounds. September through December is an especially productive time for Marlin, but they can be caught year-round. Whether you're chasing a personal best or simply looking for an action-packed trip, these waters won’t disappoint.

You’ll fish the famous “Pocket,” a 30-nautical-mile-wide underwater canyon known for its abundant marine life. Most days, Captain Ozzy starts fishing just 12–15 miles offshore at the canyon’s edge, but he may take you as far as 40 miles out to find the best action. Expect to target Sailfish, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Black Marlin, and more. Top captains often raise multiple Marlin in a single day, making this destination a true angler’s paradise.

Fishing methods include trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, and light or heavy tackle. Fly fishing is also an option for those seeking an exciting challenge. You’ll use artificial teasers and natural baits like ballyhoo, all rigged with conservation-friendly circle hooks. Shimano stand-up tackle (20–50 lb class) ensures reliability and performance. Guatemala is a global leader in billfish conservation, and all billfishing is strictly catch-and-release, preserving the ecosystem for future generations.

With the "Performance Package," you’ll fish aboard a 32' Blackfin sportfisher powered by twin Cat 3208 engines, cruising at 22 knots, or a 31' Bertram with twin Cummins 6BTA engines cruising at 23 knots. Both boats are equipped with all the essential amenities and are meticulously maintained for comfort and safety. Each boat features an experienced captain, two skilled mates, and top-tier gear to ensure an exceptional experience. Fishing trips run from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, during which your crew will serve a hot lunch, fresh ceviche or sashimi prepared in the galley, snacks, and beverages, including beer, rum/vodka, sodas, Gatorade, and bottled water. The luxury and service extend seamlessly from the resort to the boat.

When the day’s fishing is done, you’ll retreat to your private air-conditioned suite, furnished with two queen beds, a bathroom, a desk, a lounge chair, and a flat-screen TV with SKY Satellite Service (English programming). Daily laundry service and high-speed Wi-Fi are included, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay.

Dining is another highlight of this trip. Enjoy a-la-carte breakfasts by the pool with fresh fruit, cereal, pancakes, eggs cooked to order, and Guatemalan coffee. Dinners feature fresh seafood with local seasonings, prime steaks, and international cuisine, complete with appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Unlimited beer, wine, and premium spirits elevate every meal, ensuring a truly indulgent dining experience.

From the moment you land, your transportation is taken care of. An English-speaking driver will greet you at the Guatemalan International Airport and escort you to the resort in a luxury passenger van stocked with sodas and beer. If your flight arrives mid-day, you’ll have the option to tour Antigua Guatemala en route to the resort. The scenic 90-minute drive to Iztapa, Escuintla, takes you along volcanoes, sugar plantations, and picturesque landscapes, setting the tone for an unforgettable trip.

This all-inclusive fishing adventure with Captain Ozzy combines world-class billfishing, five-star accommodations, and impeccable service for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Whether you’re chasing trophy Sailfish, battling massive Marlin, or simply relaxing in paradise, this trip is guaranteed to leave you with incredible memories.
