Whether you're chasing Yellowtail along the kelp beds or dropping deep for Rockfish, fishing off the coast of San Diego offers a dynamic experience for anglers of all levels—and Captain Zeek is the guy you want at the helm.

You’ll be heading out aboard a custom-built 49’ Shaw-Westport sportfisher, a USCG UPV Inspected vessel with room for up to six passengers. This boat is built for comfort and performance, with serious fishing capability and plenty of space to relax during your trip. The vessel is fully rigged with top-quality gear and features all the amenities you need for a full day on the water, including a toilet, shower, full bathroom, and even full-sized beds—perfect for early morning starts or mid-trip breaks. A spacious dining area and air-conditioned interior mean you’ll be just as comfortable as you are ready to fish.

Depending on the conditions and the season, Captain Zeek will tailor the techniques to the day’s opportunities. You might be live bait fishing, jigging, bottom fishing, trolling, casting, or even kite fishing if the situation calls for it. His years of experience give him the edge in putting you on fish, whether you're working the local reefs, kelp lines, or cruising up and down the coast in search of better water. Target species often include Calico Bass, Yellowtail, Halibut, Rockfish, Lingcod, and White Seabass. And while nothing’s guaranteed, there's always the chance you’ll hook into a trophy fish—or even a shark!

Captain Zeek welcomes families aboard, and child-sized life vests are provided for young anglers. If you're planning to fish, be sure to purchase a valid California fishing license for everyone in your group ahead of time. These are easy to find online or just five minutes from the dock at Dana Landing Marina.

Everything else is taken care of: rods, reels, tackle, lures, and live bait are all included in the trip, along with complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. If you want to bring your own alcohol, that’s totally fine—just stick to moderation and avoid glass containers. A First Mate may be on board depending on the trip, and a 15–20% tip is always appreciated for their effort and service.

All gear is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and any gear of your own you want to use on the trip.
You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
This trip is managed by an outfitter. Ezekiel will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.
Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
