About Your Trip

Get ready to experience the heart and soul of Louisiana fishing with an unforgettable day on the water in St. Bernard! Nestled just southeast of New Orleans, this inshore paradise is known for its winding bayous, lush marshes, and legendary fishing grounds—and there’s no better way to explore it than with Captain James.

On this private 8-hour trip, you and up to three guests will join Captain James for a hands-on adventure through the scenic
waterways of St. Bernard Parish. Whether you're a first-time angler or a seasoned pro, Captain James brings the local knowledge and laid-back expertise to help you make the most of your day. With years of experience navigating these waters, he knows where the fish are biting and how to put you right on them.

You’ll be targeting some of Louisiana’s most iconic inshore species—hard-fighting Redfish, bruiser Black Drum, feisty Sheepshead, and delicious Speckled Trout. These fish thrive in the area’s shallow marshes and oyster-lined channels, providing fast-paced action and plenty of photo-worthy catches. From sight-casting for tailing Reds to pulling Trout from slick current lines, every cast brings the chance at a personal best.

Captain James provides high-quality rods, reels, and tackle to match the day's target species and conditions. Whether you're working a popping cork along the grass edges or jigging the bottom for Sheepshead, he’ll get you dialed in with the right setup. The boat is equipped for comfort and built to handle the skinny water, allowing you to reach those secluded honey holes that bigger boats can’t access.

While the fish are the stars of the show, the surrounding scenery is a close second. Towering cypress trees, flocks of coastal birds, and glassy marsh waters make this trip a peaceful, picture-perfect way to spend the day. It's not just about filling the cooler—it's about soaking in the full experience of Louisiana's wild and wonderful coastline.

To make the most of your trip, be sure to bring along food, drinks, polarized sunglasses, and a valid Louisiana fishing license. Weather-appropriate clothing, a hat, sunscreen, and wading boots are also recommended. Captain James takes care of the rest—including cleaning and filleting your catch back at the dock, so you can bring home more than just great memories.

Whether you’re chasing a trophy Red or just looking to unwind in the great outdoors, this St. Bernard inshore adventure with Captain James delivers an authentic, action-packed Louisiana fishing experience. Book your trip today and discover why anglers from all over flock to the bayous of St. Bernard!
