Drum and reds have been schooling up tight. Look for signs of dirty or off colored water in clear area around shorelines or small drop offs.
Live shrimp under or popping cork or cut mullet and skip Jack have been the key.
Trout bite has been good with croaker when you can find a good concentration of slot trout.

On September 30th, a group of four went out on a charter to Baffin Bay. The goal of the trip was to catch some redfish, trout, and drum.
We started fishing right away and had some success catching redfish. After a few hours, we had landed quite a few redfish. We also caught a few trout and drum while we were out.
Unfortunately, while we were out, heavy rain storms chased us away from Baffin Bay. We took the opportunity to take a break and wait for the rain to pass.

Once the rain had passed, we returned to Baffin Bay and were able to finish up our redfish limit. We were back to weigh in by noon.
All in all, our charter was a success. Despite the heavy rain storms, we were able to get our redfish limit and get back to weigh in on time. We look forward to our next charter and the chance to catch even more fish.

Past couple of weeks have definitely meant focusing on a sunrise bite. With the hot temperatures fish have been dropping off into deeper water very soon after sunrise.

The summer fishing has been very good, with lots of tailing fish. At least as long as the flats are quiet, plan on an earlier than normal start and finish (same time on the water) to avoid the afternoon heat. However the coastal winds keep it cooler than inland Texas.

Ruben is the MAN! First cast and we were on the fish!! Caught our limit pretty quick and then on to fishing for shark. We caught a beautiful black tip shark!! Thank you Ruben for a unforgettable experience!
Booked a two day trip with Capt. Tommy. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, put us on the fish both days (limits), and was fun to fish with. We brought our own rods for artificial but the rod and reels that he provided for live bait fishing were top notch. I would definitely book with Capt. Tommy again, as well as recommend him to others.
We enjoyed our fishing experience. Mark was on top of our needs andcthough didn't get on many fish he put us on a few, and a red that may end up being a tournament winner.
I brought my two boys (9 and 11), and brother on a trip with Ruben and we had a great time. We caught a lot of fish and Ruben was really helpful and patient with my boys who hadn’t fished much. They both are already asking when we can go again and we’ll definitely look up Ruben when we head back next year.
Ruben was awesome to fish with. On a very tough weather day, he got us on the fish and kept us on the fish. Great communication. Will definitely fish with him again.
James was an awesome guy. Just a normal guy that you could enjoy your trip with and catch fish. Had great conversation and put us on the fish when things were slow.. I highly recommend him and I would use him again. For sure.
Captain Tommy was solid with the entire trip from beginning to end, he was super knowledgeable with fishing spots, and even with the weather he didn't skip a beat, it was like clock work he got us to where the fish were, and back in safely, I would most definitely book again and refer him to friends, and family, thank you Captain Tommy
