Inks Lake Fishing Report – Late December 2025
Inks Lake is currently at a normal water level with lightly stained water and about 2–4 feet of visibility. Water temperatures are hovering around 60°, and the cooler, overcast days have been producing the most consistent action. With the recent drawdown behind us, the lake is continuing to settle into typical winter patterns.

Solid fishing right now for numbers of bass with the occasional big bite! We are targeting submerged vegetation with drop shot rigged finesse worms and Texas-rigged stick worms.

Having to sift through the little ones to get to the big ones, but the big ones are there to be caught! There are definitely some bass spawning, but we are targeting the fish that are staging on offshore hard spots just outside of spawning areas with jigs and deep diving crankbaits.

Good fishing overall right now! We are catching them around rocky shorelines with Alabama Rigs and crankbaits. Water temps are hanging around 51-57 degrees. Water clarity is at about 4-6 ft.

Lake Bastrop-12/4- water temp 67, lots of bass shallow right now, can catch these fish with spinnerbaits and flukes, worms also working well on outside edge of the grass, you can rig these on a drop shot or neko rig to stay weedless

Kicking out big numbers of bass averaging 50-80 bass per trip. Finding big ones has been a little more difficult, but we are getting a ton of bites! We are focusing on deeper grass edges in 15-20 ft of water drop shotting Bass Pro Shops Tri-Color Worms and Texas rigging 5" stick worms.
