The shrimp and baitfish are migrating into our bay system and the fish are actively hunting them. The speckled trout and redfish are on the move looking for easy meals. This is in my opinion one of the best times of the year to target speckled trout with artificial baits and live baits. Typically the high spring winds will start to die off towards the end of May and early June. This weather combined with the influx of the spring bait migration leads to some good fishing. It's a great time to introduce the kids to some fishing action. Schools of black drum should also magically show up soon. My schedule is filling up for summer so you may want to pick some dates.
